  • Patent number: 7564350
Abstract: A container and contents monitoring system includes a device, a reader, a server, and a software backbone. The device communicates with the reader in order to determine the security and/or location of the container to which the device is attached. The reader transmits the information from the device to the server. The device determines if a security condition has occurred based on at least one sensor located on or in the container.

  • Patent number: 7564352
Abstract: A container and contents monitoring system includes a device, a reader, a server, and a software backbone. The device communicates with the reader in order to determine the security of the container to which the device is attached. The reader transmits the information from the device to the server. The sensor senses a distance or an angle value between a door of the container and a frame of the container and the sensed value is then transmitted to the device. The device obtains a baseline value that is related to a calculated mean value. The device also obtains a detection threshold. The device determines if a security condition has occurred based on the sensed value and the detection threshold.

  • Patent number: 7382251
Abstract: A system monitors the condition of a container. A container security device secures at least one door of the container. The container security device is programmably armed to implement the securing. The container security device is adapted to sense at least one condition of the container, transmit information relative to the at least one sensed condition to a location outside the container, and interpret the at least one sensed condition. A remote arming plug is coupled to the container security device. The remote arming plug has a unique identifier to be communicated to the container security device to initiate an arming sequence of the container security device.

  • Publication number: 20070273484
Abstract: A method for synchronizing wakeup signals transmitted by a plurality of readers to at least one radio tag includes monitoring, by a first reader, for a first wakeup signal transmitted by a second reader. If the first wakeup signal is detected by the first reader, the first reader transmits a second wakeup signal having a duration ending at substantially the same time as the first wakeup signal. If the first wakeup signal is not detected by the first reader, the first reader transmits a third wakeup signal having a default duration. This Abstract is provided to comply with rules requiring an Abstract that allows a searcher or other reader to quickly ascertain subject matter of the technical disclosure. This Abstract is submitted with the understanding that it will not be used to interpret or limit the scope or meaning of the claims. 37 CFR 1.72(b).

  • Patent number: 6526291
Abstract: In a cellular radio system down-link diversity is provided. The system has means in a base station (BS) for receiving signals from a mobile station (MS) using a diversity reception arrangement, in particular an antenna diversity arrangement (207, 209). Information regarding the current reception conditions is extracted from the reception diversity system and is used for improving the transmission. Thereby the transmitted signals can have less signal power, which in turn makes it possible to provide smaller cluster sizes and thereby increase the channel capacity in the cellular radio system.
