  • Patent number: 4682684
Abstract: A method and an arrangement for the feeding or transfer of objects from a first to a second conveyor, the latter being driven at a higher constant speed than the first conveyor. In such a transfer of objects between conveyors equipped with driving or load contacting elements, damage to the objects is avoided if these are given a temporary increase in speed at the moment of transfer. The increase in speed occurs because the driving element of the first conveyor is tipped forward directly before the transfer in the direction of movement of the conveyor, so that the total speed of the object at the moment of transfer substantially corresponds to the speed of the second conveyor.

  • Patent number: 4510732
Abstract: A machine for the processing of packing containers of the type used for example for milk products. Such packing containers are manufactured from a filled material tube and are first given cushion-shape. With the help of the machine in accordance with the invention they are subsequently converted to a substantially parallelepipedic shape. The machine comprises a means of transport in the form of a wheel (35) having radial holding devices (37) for the cushion-shaped semi-finished products (2). The means of transport can be rotated step-by-step so that each individual packing container passes around processing stations (45-50) placed around the periphery of the means of transport for the folding of corner lugs, sealing and shaping.

  • Patent number: 4331288
Abstract: The present invention relates to a packing container particularly for liquid substances. The packing container includes a sealing fin along which material layers forming the packing container are adjoined to one another. The sealing fin extends both over a wall of the packing container and over a corner lug adjoining the wall which corner lug is adapted to be folded against the wall. A portion of the sealing fin extending over the packing container wall is folded down against the wall in one direction and a portion of the sealing fin extending over the corner lug is folded down in an opposite direction.

  • Patent number: 4225556
Abstract: Sterilization of a web of packing material is accomplished in two steps with the web first being coated and washed with a sterilizing agent in liquid form at a first treatment station. The web then passes through a second treatment station where sterilizing liquid is sprayed as a fine mist onto a heated surface which vaporizes the sterilizing liquid. The vapor condenses on the passing web to further sterilize the web. One or more heaters again vaporizes the sterilizing agent which is on the packing web to remove the sterilizing agent. The sterilized packing material web is then cut into individual package units after the web has been filled with sterile contents.

  • Patent number: 4054074
Abstract: Parallelepipedic packing containers are made and filled in succession by passing a continuous web of packaging material over a forming device which converts the web into tubular form with an overlapped longitudinal seam. The tube is then filled with the intended contents, e.g., a liquid and is then divided off into individual packing containers by first pressing the tube transversely at longitudinally spaced intervals along broad zones and the opposite sides of the flattened tube are heat-sealed to each other along two narrow sealing regions close to the opposite base lines of the flattened zone while the remaining portions of the flattened zone remain non-sealed.

  • Patent number: 3977591
Abstract: The invention concerns a cover strip for the pouring opening of a packing container. The strip is provided with a weakening line for ease in tearing off the cover strip. The bottom part of the cover strip is attached to a wall of the container so that it remains on the container after the cover strip per se is torn off.
