  • Patent number: 4384391
Abstract: Buckle for safety belts, which are provided with belt straps and two coupling components. Said coupling components are intended for detachable coupling together of the belt strap. One coupling component comprises a lockable part (1), and the other coupling component comprises a locking part. The locking part is provided with a locking element (9), which is pivoted in the locking part. The locking element can be switched over between a position releasing the lockable part and a position, in which it locks said part. The locking element is further spring loaded, so that it tends to pivot to its releasing position. A catching element (29) forms part of the locking part and can be switched over between a catch position, in which the locking element is impeded from being switched over from its locking position, and a releasing position, in which the locking element is permitted to pivot to its releasing position.

  • Patent number: 4341360
Abstract: A locking mechanism for safety belts of the reel belt type and provided with a strap webbing (3), which can be unwound from a strap reel and a pawl mechanism (8), which is changeable between a position releasing the strap reel and a locking position. The device also comprises an activating mechanism (7) for the change-over of the pawl mechanism to a locked position. The activating mechanism has a body (11) of inertia with a determined basal surface (14). The body of inertia can occupy a central rest position with a basal surface resting on a carrying surface (19), or a peripheral activated position, in which the body of inertia is tilted about a first pivoting center (45). The activating mechanism also has a transmission element (12) which is provided to sense the positions of the body of inertia and to change-over the pawl mechanism (8).

  • Patent number: 4199190
Abstract: The present invention relates to a device in connection with safety belts for vehicles for detachable fastening of a safety belt at least to one of its fastening points and substantially comprises a semi rigid anchoring part comprising preferably a wire and enclosed by at least one covering and which at one terminal end has a fastening fitting intended to be fastened to a fixed part of the vehicle, and a coupling part supported by the anchoring part and fastened to the other terminal end of said anchoring part. Said coupling part is intended to be used in connection with the detachable fastening of the safety belt. The anchoring part comprises a loop of said wire, both parts of which extend along each other inside the coverings of the anchoring part. Said other end of the anchoring part extends into the coupling part, which with a stress-absorbing portion extends into the loop, the two terminal ends of which are fastened to the fastening fitting at said one end of the anchoring part.

  • Patent number: 4193564
Abstract: A safety belt retractor for vehicles with a locking device arranged to lock upon an acceleration of the vehicle. This acceleration is sensed by an activating means convertible between an inactive and an activated condition in which the retractor is locked by means of a pawl engaging a ratchet wheel. The activating means can be mounted in different angular positions around a pivot axis relative to the housing of the retractor. The activating means includes a transmission element for the transmission of the different conditions to the pawl. The transmission element has a guiding surface located in connection with said pivot axis. The pawl bears by means of a portion against said guiding surface, which is displaceable transversely to said pivot axis in dependence on the condition of the activating means.

  • Patent number: 4148447
Abstract: Locking device for safety belts of the reel-belt type preferably intended for vehicles and provided with a band, which against the bias of a spring can be unwound from a rotating bandreel. The device comprises a ratchet wheel which normally rotates with the reel and a pawl mechanism with a pawl for cooperation with the ratchet wheel. The pawl can be switched between a position, in which it releases the ratchet wheel, and a locking position, in which it engages the ratchet wheel in order to impede its rotation in one direction. The device further comprises an activating means, which is arranged to occupy an activated condition and to be in an inactive condition and depending upon its condition to actuate the pawl mechanism for shifting of the pawl between its releasing and its locking positions.

  • Patent number: 4137611
Abstract: Latch mechanism for safety belts provided with belt means and two connectable members, provided for a releasable anchoring of the belt means to a vehicle. One of said members consists of a locking member and the other member consists of a latch member. The latch member comprises at least one locking device, which is movable between a first, unlocking position releasing the locking member and a second position, locking the same. The latch member further comprises maneuvering means, provided to be actuated from the outside of the latch member for said moving of the locking device and to be caught in a position in which the locking device is retained in its first, unlocking position when the locking member is disconnected from the latch member, and a frame for the guiding of the locking device and the maneuvering device.
