Abstract: Parts for a wooden casing, in particular in the form of a telephone apparatus case, are manufactured as follows. A piece of timber is dried inside an oven to a moisture content of about 4-5% with sufficient moisture content being left to avoid cell collapse in the timber. At the end of the drying period the temperature is raised causing the resin in the timber to flow out and seal the pitch fibers of the wood preventing the wood from reabsorbing moisture. A blank is taken from the dried timber and worked into the final shape of a casing. Any weak points in the casing are reinforced with a reinforcing material in the form of wood or some other material. The pores of the wood are then sealed with varnish.

Abstract: A large-surface control panel (1) is made of wood. At least at parts of its extent in the plane of the panel the control panel exhibits a material thickness of 1.5-6.0 mm. At least said parts the control panel is constructed from three sheets of wood positioned immediately adjacent one to the other, with the adjacent sheets of wood being so arranged that the principal directions of the grain of the wood run cross-wise to each other.

Abstract: A base plate including an upward projecting peripheral rim and slots on the edge of the rim. The plate consists of a first, preferably flat unit made of wood and a second component connected to it and made of solid wood in the form of a composite frame consisting of three or more parts. Each part of the frame is dried to a very low moisture content and then heat-treated so that the pith fibers are sealed by resin released from the wood. The surface of each part of the frame is also treated with varnish or a similar substance which seals the surface pores of the wood. Each part of the frame is so arranged that the grain of the wood coincides essentially with the height direction of the plate. A reinforcing element prevents the warping of the wood caused by internal stresses in the wooden material.

Abstract: A device for the positioning and individual feeding of nails comprises a nail filling container which is pivotal upwards and downwards about a horizontal pivot shaft and in the bottom of which there are formed one or more slots which are substantially perpendicular to said pivot shaft and in which the shanks of the nails can be accommodated while the nails are maintained suspended by their upper parts, for instance their heads.
