  • Patent number: 4964459
Abstract: A heat exchanger for exchange of heat between two liquid media, particularly an oil-water-heat exchanger for cooling engine or transmission oil in an automotive vehicle with the aid of the cooling water flow of the engine, comprises two heat-exchange chambers (1, 2) mutually separated by a common liquid-impervious partition wall (3) and intended to be through-passed by a respective one of the media. The partition wall (3) is tubular with a circular cross-section and open axial ends forming an inlet and an outlet for the water. The heat-exchange chamber (1) for the water is annular and located radially inwards of the partition wall and encloses a direct flow path for the water from the inlet (4) to the outlet (5), and communicates with the direct flow path in a manner such that only part of the total water flow through the inlet (4) will pass through the said heat-exchange chamber (1), whereas the remainder of the water will flow along the direct flow path to the outlet (5).

  • Patent number: 4960167
Abstract: A heat exchanger for exchange of heat between two liquid media, of which at least one medium is contaminated and/or readily gives rise to deposits or coatings, such as e.g. contaminated water, includes two flow chambers mutually separated by a common liquid-impervious partition wall (1). The partition wall is tubular with a substantially circular cross-sectional and open ends forming respectively an inlet (2) and an outlet (3) for a first media. The partition wall is surrounded by a cylindrical sleeve-like outer wall (4) extending coaxially with the partition wall in spaced relationship therewith, and having its axial ends sealingly connected to the partition wall (1), and provided with an inlet (5) and an outlet (6) for the second medium so as to define a flow chamber for the second medium. At least the major part of the sleeve-like outer wall (4) is elastically flexible.

  • Patent number: 4878536
Abstract: A combined filter and heat exchanger for simultaneous filtering of a first medium and heat transfer between the first medium and a second medium, for example a combined oil filter and cooler for internal combustion engines includes a filter section comprising a hollow, cylindrical filter element (2) arranged co-axially within an outer casing (1) having a cylindrical wall (1a) which extends around the filter element coaxially therewith and in spaced relationship thereto. A heat-exchanger section is arranged in the space between the cylindrical wall (1a) and the filter element (2). The heat-exchanger section includes a cylindrical partition wall (5) subdividing said space into two chambers. The first medium flows first through the inner chamber and is then distributed across the outer surface of the filter element (2), whereas the second medium flows through the outer chamber (7).

  • Patent number: 4572238
Abstract: A controlled sliding valve comprises a valve housing with a cylindrical bore, in which a slide controlling a hydraulic flow reciprocates by an adjusting force, the sealing surfaces between the slide and bore form a sealing gap converging in the flow direction, and the amount of flow is controlled between a throttling edge and longitudinal control grooves (7, 8;44) in the slide with variable cross-sectional area in the direction of movement of the slide, and a centering spring retains the slide in closing position. In order to obtain low adjusting forces, to control the volume so as to be substantially constant and independent of the pressure drop over the valve, and to maintain low leakage past the slide, the valve housing includes a central chamber (6) provided with a port (3), and on both sides of the central chamber two control chambers (9, 10) with ports and each with a sealing gap (11, 12) spaced from each other.

  • Patent number: 4570563
Abstract: Grounding protective device for sailing vessels and similar boats provided with a fin keel to eliminate to the greatest possible extent the impact effect on a boat when the keel touches ground and to give a long braking distance in order to prevent damage to the boat and the risk of injuries to crew members. A stay is provided in the central plane of the boat which extends from at least either of the end edges of the fin keel at their lower ends to a point so located, that between the point and the fin keel the stay extends at least as deep as any part of the boat.

  • Patent number: 4532151
Abstract: In a method for coating a surface with a layer the surface is first subjected to vacuum in a vacuum zone (V) sealed against the surface, whereupon liquid for forming the layer is supplied to the surface in a sealed pressure zone (P) following the vacuum zone. The supplied liquid is then spread out in a controlled manner, preferably by the sealing (13) terminating the pressure zone. FIG. 1.

  • Patent number: 4504069
Abstract: The sealing device is intended for sealing in one direction between the cooperating surface of a cylindric cavity and shell surface of a cylindric cavity and shell surface of a spindle (3) movable therein. One or the other surface is provided with an annular groove (9), in which a sealing ring (8) is located, which is slightly movable in axial and radial direction and intended to minimize fluidum leakage in axial direction between the cooperating surfaces. The ring (8) has small cross-sectional dimensions in relations to the spindle (3) and enclosing cavity. The ring is slim but is of rigid material. The sealing surface (12) of the ring is slightly conic. The ring abuts on the radial inner surface (11) of the groove along a supporting surface, which is annular and has substantially smaller height than the cross-sectional height of the ring and is located adjacent the sealing surface. One or more grooves are located in peripheral direction about the inner surface of the ring.

  • Patent number: 4301714
Abstract: A damping device in pressurized fluid cylinders, especially in hydraulic cylinders, for end position damping of the piston stroke. The device comprises a closure member connected to the piston and adapted to enter during a damping process into an outlet opening in front of the piston. A ring, serving as a non-return valve, is arranged with an axial play in an annular groove so as to choke the flow of pressurized fluid through the annular passage between the wall defining the outlet opening and the closure member, while permitting a fluid flow in the opposite direction during the return stroke of the piston. According to the invention, the ring has a cross-section permitting at least a radial deformation, and circumferentially distributed by-pass openings located in the region of the inside of the annular groove so as to permit said fluid flow during the return stroke of the piston.
