  • Patent number: 4376552
Abstract: A headrest for back seats in station wagons arranged on a forwardly foldable seat back is arranged on or is integrated with an arm pivotally arranged at the top, rear edge of the back seat, to be swung out of the way from a use position to a stowage position beneath the seat back when the seat back is folded down. The arm can be articulated and be slidably arranged in a sleeve mounted on the rear side of the seat back. When the headrest is in the stowage position, the seat back can be folded forwards and the headrest will be well-protected and out of the way in the cavity under the seat back which would otherwise be unused.

  • Patent number: 4317583
Abstract: A passive safety belt system for motor vehicles. The upper point of a diagonal-type belt is displaced by a fitting, slidably mounted in a guide track extending above the door between vehicle posts that are forward and rearward of the driver's door and joined to a cord connected with a differential mechanism which has a manual drive and preferably comprises two unequally large sheaves. The cord is reeled up on one sheave when a drive device such as a pull wire is unreeled from the other sheave. The differential mechanism coacts with the door lock so as to release it just before the fitting reaches the forward end of the track.

  • Patent number: 4213675
Abstract: A device for manually adjusting the setting of an outside vehicle rear view mirror by manually operating a grip member provided in the interior of the vehicle. The device comprises a generally cylindrical holder body rotatably but axially non-displaceably mounted in a through-hole in a front door of the vehicle. In a cavity within the holder body there is pivotally disposed an adjustment arm having a first end portion situated on the outside of the door and carrying the mirror, and a second end portion protruding through a slot in an end cover being biased towards the inside end of the holder body and against the inner surface of the door. On said second end portion the arm carries a grip member on the inside of the door, this member being manually displaceable over the surface of end cover for pivoting the arm horizontally and thereby adjusting the mirror horizontally.

  • Patent number: 4109930
Abstract: The invention relates to a towing device for motor vehicles, preferably passenger cars, having a rear bumper which to a great extent comprises a soft, energy-absorbing portion which is attached to a rigid beam attached to the vehicle. The towing device comprises an upwardly directed portion which is shaped as a ball and connected to the bumper and which, in a storage position, is covered by a removable or slidable portion of the bumper. The ball portion is connected to the bumper beam in such a manner that it can be moved between the storage position in which it at least to a great extent is withdrawn into a storage space in the bumper beam and a towing position completely outside of said storage space, said removable or swingable portion being formed of a portion of the soft portion of the bumper.
