  • Patent number: 6155810
Abstract: A mold bed for fabricating pre-stressed concrete elements has a mold frame (8) that extends between the ends of the bed. Tensioning heads are mounted at the bed ends for tensioning reinforcement ropes or lines (10) extending in the mold cavity. The mold frame (8) includes longitudinally extending beam elements (4) that take up pressure forces which constitute counter-pressure forces that are generated by the tension forces that are taken up by the tensioning heads when tensioning the ropes. These beam elements have the form of long bars (4), e.g., bars of rectangular profiles, that are surrounded by continuously or discontinuously extending sleeve elements (5). The bars (4) are therewith prevented from buckling or breaking sideways as a result of the pressure forces generated by the tension in the ropes (10). The sleeve elements (5) are stiffened by means of anchoring devices (14) that engage in the underlying surface.

  • Patent number: 4522367
Abstract: A method of manufacturing railway switch-point concrete sleeper blocks of varying lengths and having different number of attachment means located in mutually different positions for the attachment of rails. A plurality of steel matrix plates 102 whose respective lengths correspond to the desired lengths of the various sleeper blocks and which exhibit detachably mounted dowels 109 are placed end to end in an elongate mould bed with the dowels facing upwardly, whereafter reinforcing lines rods 5 are tensioned and concrete is poured into the mould bed and permitted to harden. The thus formed coherent concrete body is then removed from the mould and the matrix plates removed with the dowels remaining cast in the concrete block. The concrete body is then cut into sleeper blocks of desired length. The dowels are accurately mounted in predetermined positions in frame members affixed to the matrix plates.

  • Patent number: 4415120
Abstract: A device for sleepers for railway tracks, which sleepers (6) are adapted to support a number of rails (5) which are situated in a crossover point with an adjacent roadway. The device includes an element (28) with an underside which is adapted to rest, preferably via an intermediate layer (38), against the top of the sleeper (6) which may be planar. A groove (24) is adapted to form a support for the foot (22) of the rail (5). A first heel (33) is on the one side of said groove (24) for the rail foot (22). At the opposite side of said groove (24) in relation to the first heel (33) is another heel (31) with a cylindrical top opposite the underside of the element, the axis of which top extends substantially parallel to the rail (5). Positions (29, 30) are included for clamping devices (25, 26) to secure the rail and the element to the sleeper (6).

  • Patent number: 4290991
Abstract: In a method of manufacturing for a railway switch-point concrete sleeper blocks (15') of varying lengths and having different number of attachment means (15'b) located in mutually different positions for the attachment of rails to said blocks there is used a plurality of steel matrices (2) whose respective lengths correspond to the desired lengths of the various sleeper blocks and which exhibit detachably mounted dowels (3). The matrices are placed end to end in an elongate mould bed with the dowels facing upwardly, whereafter reinforcing lines (5) are tensioned and concrete is cast into the mould bed and permitted to harden. The thus formed coherent concrete body (15), whose length may exceed 30 meters, is then removed from the mould and the matrices (2) removed and the dowels (3) remaining cast in the concrete block. The concrete body (15) is then cut into sleeper blocks (15') of desired length.

  • Patent number: 4236670
Abstract: An arrangement at crossings between a road and a railway. Between the rails and the respective edges of the road structure and between the rails are arranged first and second slabs level at their top surfaces with the top surfaces of the rails and the top surfaces of the road structure. Elongated supporting elements rest on the foundation and are located at the edges of the first slabs which face the road structure. On the supporting element a first edge to which the road structure adjoins with a second edge opposite to the first edge of the supporting element, forming a support for the edges of the first slabs, and a support for the opposite edges of the slabs facing the rail is provided on the end portions of the sleepers outside the rails.
