  • Publication number: 20140090560
Abstract: Apparatus for separating ash particles from a flue gas. The apparatus includes a screen that has a plurality of semi-elliptical cylinder surfaces. The semi-elliptical cylinder surfaces having holes through which said flue gas flows and through which the ash particles will not pass. The screen has a single layer for performing the separation in a manner such that the ash particles fall away from the screen and collect outside of the screen. A method of reducing velocity of a flue gas passing through screening apparatus for separating flue gas from ash particles. The method includes replacing a first screen of the screening apparatus with a second screen that has a plurality of semi-elliptical cylinder surfaces.

  • Publication number: 20110187058
Abstract: An earth boring bit has a bit body with a depending bearing pin, a cone rotatably mounted on the bearing pin, a seal gland between the cone and the bearing pin, and a seal assembly located in the seal gland. The seal assembly includes an annular metallic spring encircling the bearing pin. The spring has a geometric center line that extends in a circle around the bearing pin. The spring is elastically deformable in radial directions relative to the center line. An elastomeric layer is located on an exterior side of the spring and is biased by the spring against a surface of the seal gland.

  • Publication number: 20100071960
Abstract: A composite seal gland insert for a roller cone rock bit is a polymer composite sleeve containing one or more constituents that function to significantly lower the wear of the elastomeric seal ring. A fluid lubricant film also may be used between the elastomer seal and the gland. The outer surface of the insert is profiled to provide a sealing surface against which the elastomer seal runs. The insert is installed over the bearing pin and has a surface that engages the last machined surface of the leg. A static seal, which may comprise an additional elastomeric seal, may be used beneath the gland insert to provide a pressure seal between the insert and the pin. An adhesive also may be used as the pressure seal and also to retain the gland insert in the desired position. In addition, a mechanical anti-rotation device may be used to prevent rotation of the gland insert.

  • Publication number: 20050237078
Abstract: A micro-browser has pair of rods each rod entering a corresponding bore in a sleeve that retains them, and that may itself be carried by a grip shaped to be rotated between a thumb and a finger. The edge of a small circuit board is soldered at the distal end of the rod. One of the rods is allowed to rotate within its bore in the sleeve, while the other is held stationary by a notch in the sleeve. The rotatable rod has a captive spring that resists the force of probe contact. Each board carries a coupling network connected to a short sharp probe tip bent downward away from the plane of its board, allowing the distance between the probe tips to be a function of the amount of rotation. The other end of each coupling network is coupled to a short length of a respective 50? coaxial cable that passes through an axial slot in the grip to enter an amplifier pod that drives a main cable leading to test equipment. The rods may be held within the bores by friction created by slight bends in the rods.

  • Patent number: 6423075
Abstract: The instrument 10 for gynecological laparoscopy includes a cervical funnel 12 and an intra-uterine cannula 14 disposed axially within the funnel 12. Funnel 12 includes a hollow tube 16 having a proximal end 18 adapted to be inserted into the vagina of a patient. A hollow cone-shaped member 20 is provided at the proximal end 18. The cannula 14 has an outer sheath 58 provided at one end with a threaded cone 60 that threadingly engages the cervix to seal the uterus. An inner manipulation shaft 62 passes through the sheath 58 and cone 60 to allow manipulation of the uterus. The instrument 10 is supported by a support 92 that would be typically attached to an operating table or bed 96. Support 92 allows the position of the instrument 10 to be varied at will by the surgeon thus alleviating the need of the surgeon or a pelvic assistant to physically support the instrument 10. Seal 192 in the shape of a conical frustum is placed over the cone-shaped member 20 prior to insertion into the vagina.

  • Patent number: 5371912
Abstract: An electric floor and baseboard cleaning machine includes a motor assembly attached to a medium frame in which the movement thereof is adjustable for either straight line or circular motion. The medium frame has a fixed and pivotal sections and the pivotal sections can be manually adjusted from a vertical to a horizontal position. For cleaning vertical baseboards the pivotal section is secured in an upright posture and when used to clean floors it is affixed in a downward or horizontal position. Cleaning medium such as a non-woven pads are affixed to the medium frame and two such pads can be used, one for the pivotal frame section and the other for the fixed frame section. The cleaning machine provides an electric pump and liquid reservoir for directing a cleaning or other fluid as desired to a spray nozzle located near the cleaning medium.
