  • Patent number: 11968615
Abstract: Some methods enable a computer to receive location information from a device and determine a coverage region for the device. The device's coverage region is the area within range of a wireless signal coming from the device. The computer can determine that part of the device's coverage region covers part of a specified region and instruct the device to provide wireless access to a network associated with the first region.

  • Patent number: 11948123
Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-readable media for providing a third party access to interaction data of an article. An event detection system can be coupled to an article for a recipient. The event detection system can include a wireless communication interface and a sensor configured to detect at least one interaction event that occurs at the article. Interaction data related to the at least one interaction event can be generated that includes a user identifier of the recipient that is uniquely associated with an article identifier of the article. The interaction data can be transmitted through the wireless communication interface to an operating server for providing a third party access to the interaction data based on the inclusion of the user identifier and the article identifier with the interaction data.

  • Patent number: 11921292
Abstract: Systems, devices, and methods for eyebox expansion in wearable heads-up displays (“WHUDs”) are described. The WHUDs described herein each include a projector and an optical waveguide positioned in an optical path between the projector and an eye of the user. For any given light signal from the projector, the optical waveguide receives the light signal at an input coupler and outputs multiple instances or copies of the light signal from multiple discrete, spatially-separated output couplers. The multiple instances or copies of the light signal may be converged by the optical waveguide directly to respective exit pupils at the user's eye or may be routed by the optical waveguide to a holographic combiner in the user's field of view from which the light signals may be converged to respective exit pupils at the user's eye. The optical waveguide employs exit pupil replication to expand the eyebox of the WHUD.

  • Patent number: 11853954
Abstract: Systems and methods for remotely controlling an article based on authentication of the article. A communication system with a sensor for detecting an interaction event can be coupled to an article. The communication system can be associated with an article identifier. A communication including the article identifier can be received and the identification of the article through the article identifier can be authenticated based on an association of the article identifier with the communication system to verify that the communication is generated in response to the interaction event occurring at the article and being detected by the sensor of the communication system. As follows, operation of the article can be remotely controlled based on whether the article is authenticated.

  • Publication number: 20230306830
Abstract: The present invention relates to system for raising an alarm if an electronic device is stolen. The tamper alert system for an electronic device comprises: a cable with a plug for connecting to a terminal of the device which has a processor; a sensor that is operable to communicate with the processor in the device and in accordance with computer implemented software. When an authorised connection of the cable is made to the electrical device a signal is received by the processor which configures an alarm to a standby mode. When in standby mode, if the sensor senses an unauthorised disconnection of the cable from the device, the processor transmits an alert signal, indicating an unauthorised event, to the alarm which activates the alarm.

  • Publication number: 20220266375
Abstract: A vehicle structural component is provided having a substrate with one or more patches applied thereto. The thickness of the structural component is thicker and has added stiffness at the locations of the patches. The patches are bonded to the substrate via full surface bonding. The full surface bonding may be achieved via brazing, resistance seam welding, or adhesive bonding. A bonding layer may be disposed between the patches and the substrate. The patches and the substrate may be bonded via resistance seam welding, where a current and pressure are applied by weld wheels. The patches may be applied to the substrate in the form of a blank, or may be applied after the substrate has been formed and shaped into the vehicle component. The fully bonded patches provide comparable stiffness as a solid material having the same thickness.
