  • Publication number: 20230033700
Abstract: Examples of the present disclosure relate to a linear array of image sensor circuits including unused pixels. An example apparatus includes a linear array of image sensor integrated circuits, each integrated circuit including a plurality of pixels, each pixel including a light-sensitive element, and an unused pixel at a start of the integrated circuit. The apparatus further includes a processor, and a non-transitory machine readable medium storing instructions executable by the processor to receive programming instructions specifying a number of unused pixels associated with each integrated circuit, measure image data pixel signals from the linear array of image sensor integrated circuits, including the unused pixels, and disregard image data associated with the unused pixels.

  • Patent number: 11078038
Abstract: A document feeder may include a media transporter to feed a number of sheets of media through a feed path and a detector to detect the presence of a metal object including a number of triangular-shaped inductor coils to detect the metal objects. A method of detecting a metal object coupled to a sheet of media entering a document processing device may include applying an alternating current to a number of triangular-shaped inductor coils to create a magnetic field upstream of a media feed path, detecting a change in a magnetic flux of the magnetic field due to a metal object in the path of said magnetic flux, and producing a warning when the changes in the magnetic flux are detected.

  • Patent number: 7434940
Abstract: A light coupling system includes a waveguide, configured to receive light from at least two light sources and to internally reflect light therein; a diffraction grating, disposed upon the waveguide; and a switchable Bragg grating, disposed upon the waveguide. The diffraction grating is configured to couple light from at least one of the light sources into the waveguide, and the switchable Bragg grating is configured to selectively couple light out of the waveguide, such that the light from the at least two light sources is selectively directed along a common projection axis.

  • Patent number: 7089338
Abstract: A method and apparatus for interrupt signaling. A communication network is described comprising a master device and a slave device that are both coupled to a two wire serial bus for communication. The two wire serial bus comprises a serial data (SDA) line and a serial clock line. The master device controls communication between the master device and the slave device. The slave device is capable of generating an interrupt signal during an idle condition over the SDA line for requesting a communication transaction with the master device. Also, a method is described for recognizing an interrupt at the master device. During an idle condition over the SDA line, the master device reads the SDA line low. Previously, the slave device pulls the SDA line low during the idle condition. The master device recognizes the reading of the SDA line low as an interrupt signal from the slave device requesting the communication transaction.

  • Patent number: 6820160
Abstract: A peripheral device having bus isolation from a host computer is disclosed. The peripheral device has a microcontroller which receives a plurality of input output (I/O) signals from a plurality of logic devices in the peripheral devices. The microcontroller translates the plurality of I/O signals to signals comprehensible by I/O bus and transmits the translated signal over a serial bus. The peripheral device further includes a first unidirectional to bi-directional converter which receives I/O signals from the microcontroller and directs the signal in accordance with a directional signal from the microcontroller. The optical isolation barrier comprises of a number of optical isolating devices, which isolates the peripheral from the host and other peripherals. The peripheral device further includes a second unidirectional to bi-directional converter which has a separate ground potential then the first unidirectional to bi-directional converter.
