  • Publication number: 20230210071
Abstract: Floating ponds for the cultivation of algae are disclosed. The floating ponds consist of a buoyant framework, a liner, a culture, and a mooring system. Submersible floating ponds are disclosed with a buoyant framework built from tubes that may be filled or partially filled with, for example, air, or water, or the surrounding water, or the culture, and thereby the present invention provides a framework in which the buoyancy may be modulated. Use of submerging lines and spools are disclosed to control the orientation and depth of the floating pond during submersion.

  • Publication number: 20190338293
Abstract: This invention provides high growth capacity strains of auxotrophic Escherichia coli and methods for generating thereof. The high growth capacity strains express a complementing auxotrophic plasmid that allows the strain to grow in the absence of the auxotrophic amino acid. Also, provided herein is a method for preparing a bacterial cell extract of a high growth capacity strain of auxotrophic Escherichia coli for use in an in vitro protein expression.
    Type: Application

  • Patent number: 9629470
Abstract: A canopy adapted to be mounted on a chair having a backrest. This canopy is supported by a frame including a closed loop rod and an open arc rod, each rod made of flexible material. The canopy also includes a first sheet secured throughout its entire perimeter to the closed loop rod and a second sheet secured along its back edge to the top edge of the first sheet and along its front edge to at least a portion of the open arc rod. The canopy also includes anchors configured to attach said canopy to said chair's backrest. The canopy can be compactly collapsed by folding the first sheet over the second sheet, thereby forming a stack, twisting the stack into three sets of loops, shifting the left loops in front of the right loops and folding the middle loops in front of the left loops.

  • Patent number: 8178108
Abstract: The present invention relates generally to the production, purification, and isolation of human growth hormone (hGH). More particularly, the invention relates to the production, purification, and isolation of substantially purified hGH comprising non-naturally encoded amino acids and hGH from recombinant host cells or culture medium including, for example, yeast, insect, mammalian and bacterial host cells. The process of the present invention is also useful for purification of hGH linked to polymers or other molecules.
