  • Patent number: 12711867
Abstract: A caravan is performed of a plurality of vehicles by an ego vehicle. An ego vehicle receives, in caravan messages via a wireless transceiver of the ego vehicle, capability information indicative of capabilities of the vehicles to traverse an obstacle along a route. Performance rankings that indicate relative capabilities of the vehicles per type of obstacle are determined based on the capability information. One or more ordering strategies are utilized to define a vehicle ordering for traversal of the obstacle along the route, the vehicle ordering being based on the performance rankings of the vehicles and the obstacle. The obstacle is traversed, by the caravan, according to the vehicle ordering.

  • Patent number: 12704174
Abstract: A vehicle including a sensor unit and a processor is disclosed. The sensor unit may detect a presence of a user and predetermined items in the vehicle. The processor may determine that the user has entered the vehicle based on inputs obtained from the sensor unit. Responsive to determining that the user has entered the vehicle, the processor may determine that a predefined condition is met based on the inputs obtained from the sensor unit. The processor may determine that the predefined condition is met when one or more first items present in the vehicle do not match a user's predefined authorized item list or one or more second items that are preferred by the user are absent from the vehicle. The processor may further disable the vehicle from being shifted out of a park mode responsive to determining that the predefined condition is met.

  • Publication number: 20260231247
Abstract: Device locations of access devices are tracked using a wireless transceiver of a vehicle, the wireless transceiver being configured to support wireless communication with the access devices. User locations of users are tracked using a sensor suite of the vehicle, the sensor suite being configured to track the users in proximity to the vehicle. The access devices are correlated with the users, using an access controller, based on correspondence of the device locations to the user locations. Responsive to a single correlated access device being detected, a wireless connection is established with the correlated access device. Responsive to a plurality of correlated access devices being detected, refraining from establishing the wireless connection is performed until one or more of the users enter the vehicle.

  • Publication number: 20260225494
Abstract: Systems and methods for managing reserve battery capacity in vehicles are disclosed. The method includes monitoring battery usage patterns to calculate a battery life score and determining a reserve battery capacity based on the calculated battery life score. When the vehicle is located a predefined distance from a charging facility, the method calculates an extended driving range achievable with the reserve battery capacity. A reserve battery capacity release option is presented to a user, including the associated extended driving range and the battery life score effect of the reserve battery capacity release. Upon user confirmation, the reserve battery capacity is released, and the battery life score and reserve battery capacity are dynamically adjusted based on the effect of the reserve battery capacity release.

  • Publication number: 20260200482
Abstract: Systems and methods for mitigating vehicle battery drain are provided. Once a vehicle determines it is no longer in use (for example, after a key-off event of the vehicle), the vehicle may monitor the state of charge (SoC) of the battery that is used to power the various electronic control units (ECUs) of the vehicle (and/or other components of the vehicle that require an electrical power source to operate). The vehicle may take action in multiple phases depending on the current SoC of the battery and/or the rate of change of the SoC. A first phase is triggered if the SoC does not satisfy a first threshold SoC and/or the rate of change of the SoC is greater than or greater than or equal to a threshold rate of change. A second phase is triggered if the SoC falls even further and does not satisfy a second threshold SoC that is lower than the first threshold SoC.

  • Publication number: 20260205788
Abstract: Emergency communication is provided between a vehicle and a public safety answering point (PSAP). The vehicle has a wireless peer-to-peer (P2P) transceiver exchanging two-way messages with remote transceivers in remote vehicles, a telematics unit for a mobile telephone system, and an emergency call activator. Polling messages are exchanged with the remote vehicles via the P2P transceiver. A group list of specific remote vehicles contactable via the P2P transceiver is compiled together with connection status of remote vehicles to the mobile telephone system. When the emergency call activator is triggered and the telematics unit is unable to intercommunicate with the mobile telephone system, then a remote vehicle is selected from the group list which has a respective connection to the mobile telephone system. A messaging sequence via the P2P transceivers relays an emergency call to the PSAP via the selected remote vehicle.

  • Patent number: 12680843
Abstract: A sensor bar that can be attached to a vehicle chassis is provided. The sensor bar includes a first main member, and two end caps attached to either end of the first main member. The two end caps are movable in a transverse direction with respect to the first main member. The two end caps can be moved as needed to vary the overall length of the sensor bar. This enables the sensor bar to be attached to various types of vehicle chassis that may have different widths. A plurality of sensors are disposed within this sensor bar and may be used to enable a variety of features of the vehicle like remote monitoring, autonomous driving, parking assistance, etc. Some of the sensors may move in sync with the end caps such that the sensor bar can be calibrated for any configuration and depending on the type of vehicle chassis.

  • Publication number: 20260196083
Abstract: A likelihood score is determined by a vehicle that is indicative of a probability of an incident based on real-time sensor data. Responsive to the likelihood score meeting a predefined threshold, a data snapshot is generated comprising vehicle data, global navigation satellite system (GNSS) location data, and occupant information, wherein the data snapshot defines an expiration after which the data snapshot is to be automatically deleted. The data snapshot is transmitted to a cloud server for temporary storage at the cloud server and automatic deletion based on the expiration.
