The connection assembly may have a housing configured to be connected to a stationary portion of a generator and a bearing operatively connected to the housing. The connection assembly may also have a shaft supported by the bearing and configured to be connected to a rotor of the generator. The connection assembly may additionally have an adapter coupled to the housing and configured to be connected to an engine. The shaft may extend through an opening in the housing and an opening in the adapter to connect with a crankshaft of the engine.
