  • Patent number: 6173868
Abstract: A nasal pump sprayer having a folding actuator that can be used as a dust cover, finger grip and shipping clip. The folding actuator has a pair of wings that are hingedly connected to the pump body of the nasal pump sprayer and which can be locked in a closed position and used as a cover and shipping stop. The wings may also be opened to a lateral position and used as finger grips for actuating the nasal pump sprayer. Each wing has a locking means at one end for snap-locking the wings together and a hollow interior that is complementary in shape to the nozzle of the sprayer. An immobilizing means extends from the connected end of each wing and engages a confronting edge of the pump body thus locking the plunger head of the nasal pump sprayer against reciprocation for storage and shipping.

  • Patent number: 5813575
Abstract: A push-pull dispensing cap is described for a container having an open-necked top. There is a first cap member, attachable to an open-necked container, which has an outside thread for engagement with threading of an overcap, and has an upwardly projecting hollow portion with at least one dispensing port. It also is slideably attached to a second cap member such that the second cap member may cyclically moved with a first, closed position being downward, and a second, open position being upward. The second cap member has a dispensing port thereon and has an outwardly projecting ridge thereon with a cut-out located on the ridge to permit passage therethrough of a protrusion located inside the overcap. The second cap member is attached to the first cap member so as to prevent any of substantial horizontal rotation of it relative to the first cap member.

  • Patent number: 5749496
Abstract: The present invention is a semi-flexible captive cap closure which includes a non-removable cap that rotates between a closed and open position and has opposing squeeze points that must be biased inwardly in order to open the cap. The preferred embodiment of the present invention includes a container which has a base and a neck for retaining the cap. The neck has at least one inclined recess track which has at least one impression which is adequately sized to correspond to a protrusion located on the cap. When the cap is in a closed position a user grasps the cap at the opposing squeeze points and applies inward pressure in order to displace the protrusion from the impression and to allow rotation to an open position. The cap is maintained in an open position either by frictional contact between the track and protrusion or by a second corresponding impression.

  • Patent number: 5636765
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a metered dispensing cap with manifold cover for containers such as tubes and the like. The metered dispensing cap with manifold cover has a base element, a meter element housing a one-way valve, a manifold cover and a open-close valve for permitting flow of material from a meter chamber to a manifold chamber and out through the manifold cover. The present invention provides for an even, metered dispensing of material through the manifold cover.

  • Patent number: 5570821
Abstract: The present invention involves a dispenser. The dispenser includes a main hollow housing with side walls, a base and an open top which contains a manifold component for dispensing material therethrough. At least one vertical support column is included within the hollow housing and it has horizontal ratchets thereon as well as a push plate located at its top. A trigger component is also contained within the housing and it is formed of plastic material with at least one flexible portion therein. It acts as a trigger, a ratcheting member and a spring, and is strategically positioned in a hinged manner such that a side wall cut-out or other member holding the trigger component against one of the vertical support column ratchets may be rotated inwardly and released outwardly to cause the ratcheting mechanism to advance the support column.

  • Patent number: 5551607
Abstract: The present invention is a container dispensing cap closure, which includes a container, a circular base and a pivot cap. The container has a neck, an open top and external threading for affixing a circular base thereto. The circular base has a circular inside wall with internal threading for attachment to the neck of the container. The circular base has an inwardly flexible leveraged sidewall trigger with a catch thereon which, when flexed inwardly, engages and pivots a pivot cap upwardly into an open position. The circular base has an upwardly extending guide-wall that regulates the pivotal rotation of the pivot cap, and an opening from which contents may be dispensed. The pivot cap is attached to the circular base by a clasp-element which is attached to two raised sidewall tracts located on the top of the circular base. The raised sidewall tracts comprise impressions which interact with snap-in-bead protrusions located on the clasp-element, thus allowing the pivot cap to pivot thereabout.
