    Abstract: A device for monitoring operation of a lock lever of a fifth wheel trailer hitch. The inventive device includes a switch mounted to a fifth wheel hitch and responsive to a position of either the lock lever or an air cylinder actuator rod coupled to the lock lever. The switch is electrically coupled to an interlock solenoid and an indicator light for respectively blocking movement of the trailer raise/lower lever and indicating incomplete coupling of a trailer to the fifth wheel hitch.
