  • Patent number: 8146805
Abstract: A deposit card may be issued to a user that allows the user to go to a merchant and deposit cash into a deposit account of the user using information from the deposit card. The deposit card is unidirectional as it only can be used to deposit money into the deposit account. A barcode may be generated and disposed on the deposit card or provided separately. The barcode represents data that may be used in the deposit of cash to the deposit account, such as the name or other identification of the user, a card number of the deposit card, the name or other identification of the institution, an account number of the deposit account, etc. A merchant may use a barcode reader to read the barcode and obtain data that may be used in the deposit.

  • Patent number: 8021556
Abstract: A method is provided for clarifying wastewater containing contaminants including soluble organic compounds and insoluble organic compounds. The wastewater is treated with a paculant admixture including a cationic coagulant polymer and powdered activated carbon. The cationic coagulant polymer is polydiallydimethylammonium chloride, poly quaternary amine, and/or a starch-based organic polymer. After an at least 2 second delay, a flocculent is added to the wastewater to achieve (i) microcoagulation of the cationic coagulant polymer with the contaminants to form coagulated particles having an effective mass and cationic charge to react with an anionic flocculent to be added thereafter, and (ii) absorption of the soluble organic compounds on the powdered activated carbon. The anionic flocculent as added and reacted with the coagulated particles to form a sludge, containing agglomerated particles including the coagulated particles and powdered activated carbon, of sufficient size for mechanical removal.

  • Publication number: 20090157517
Abstract: This disclosure describes, generally, methods and systems for providing an adjustable balance limit prepaid presentation instrument is described. The method includes receiving a request for the adjustable balance limit prepaid presentation instrument and obtaining customer information. The method further includes, processing the customer information with a processor to determine a risk level associated with changing a funding limit associated with the prepaid presentation instrument. The method further funds the adjustable balance limit prepaid presentation instrument to up to a maximum of the assigned funding limit using a variety of funding sources.

  • Patent number: 7291275
Abstract: Methods are described for removing contaminates from aqueous industrial wastewater process streams, specifically industrial laundries to yield a less contaminated aqueous effluent for discharge to a sewer and reduce the sludge generated therefrom. A premixed medium/high molecular weight and medium/high charged cationic coagulant solution polymer and an inorganic aluminum species is injected into the wastewater, and after at least a two second delay, a high molecular weight highly charged anionic flocculent polymer solution is injected into the wastewater which reduces sludge generation, while maintaining or exceeding effluent quality. Also, no coagulant, flocculent or sludge aids are needed to attain the results and the sludge can be dewatered in a plate and frame press.
