  • Publication number: 20170149306
Abstract: A Perpetual Electricity Turbine Vortex Force Reactor is an apparatus for creating “green” electricity by tapping the full power potential of a recirculating liquid vortex of any size. This is done by redirecting the continuous explosion of the liquid escaping through the hole in the vortex chamber into a flywheel turbine attached to electrical generators. The liquid is then recirculated by a pump in a bottom liquid tank back up to the Vortex Chamber to create a self contained power system that does not pollute and is eligible for inclusion as an electrical power source under the net metering laws of many States, Florida in particular. Since the system is size independent very small single device powering reactors are possible as are enormous reactors that can power industrial size generators. Once the machines are in wide spread use the reactors will help to reduce America's carbon footprint by replacing the need for fossil fueled electric generators.

  • Publication number: 20170130504
Abstract: A vehicle sliding door brake assembly configured for attachment to a sliding door mechanism of a vehicle may include a brake member connectable to the sliding door mechanism and configured to rotate about a pivot point, the brake member comprising one or more brake portions for selectively engaging a track of the vehicle so as to provide a braking force. The brake portions may be configured to form an inertial counterweight that urges the brake member to move from a neutral position in which the brake portions are not engaged with the track to an engaged position in which one or more of the brake portions are engaged with the track when a sliding door of the vehicle is subjected to an acceleration exceeding a threshold.

  • Patent number: 9529861
Abstract: Computers and methods are provided for receiving a search request sent by a computer associated with a user. A set of documents comprising a plurality of documents that satisfy the search request is identified. At least some documents in the plurality of documents have previously been annotated by at least one user of a plurality of users. A response to the search request is sent. The response includes a ranked set of links to at least some of the plurality of documents that satisfy the search request. At least some of the links are to documents that have previously been annotated by at least one user of the plurality of users. The response is associated with instructions to display one or more corresponding annotations for at least some of the links to documents that have previously been annotated by at least one user of the plurality of users. The response is further associated with instructions to display a filter selector including one or more filter options to reduce the identified set of documents.

  • Patent number: 9045962
Abstract: A downhole apparatus (10) adapted to be run on a workstring in a well bore. The apparatus has a body (12) including ports (42) and a valve (26) which is rotatable to open and close the ports to selectively allow fluid flow through the body between regions of a well bore above and below the apparatus. The valve is rotated via a gearbox (28) and motor (30) in the apparatus. A sealing arrangement between the valve and body is also described. A method of running the apparatus in a well bore and monitoring pressure above the apparatus in order to control opening and closing of the valve under predetermined conditions is presented.

  • Patent number: 8849818
Abstract: Methods, systems, and graphical user interfaces for improved searching via user specified ratings are disclosed. A rating icon for a document in a group of documents is provided. A user rates the document in the group of documents by performing a selection operation on the rating icon. A user-specific rating for the document is generated based on the user rating. A search request is received from a user. A plurality of documents that satisfy the search request are identified (including a first respective document which not previously been rated by the user but is in the group of documents that included the rated document.) A response to the search request is sent. The response includes instructions to display a ranked set of links to at least some of the documents that satisfy the search request including a link to the first respective document displayed with the user-specific rating.

  • Patent number: 8589391
Abstract: A method, system, and graphical user interface for improved web searching via user-specified annotations are disclosed. One aspect of the invention involves a computer-implemented method in which a search engine receives a user's ratings of some, but not all, web pages associated with a group of web pages. The group of web pages is selected from the group consisting of web pages in a particular web site and web pages in a particular subunit of a web site. The search engine generates a user-specific site rating for the group of web pages based on the user's ratings for web pages in the group of web pages. The search engine uses the generated site rating for the group of web pages when responding to a search query from the user.

  • Patent number: 8240376
Abstract: An electronic actuation system for a pressure equalizing device in a downhole apparatus such as a wellbore plug is described. The system includes a pressure sensor for measuring pressure in the wellbore, and means for setting a reference pressure value using a measurement from the pressure sensor. In a method of use, an applied pressure value is determined using a measurement from the pressure sensor and the reference pressure value, and the device is actuated, or opened, when the applied pressure meets a pre-determined condition, such as falling within a pressure window for certain time period. The invention allows natural changes in wellbore pressure to be accounted for when detecting a pressure actuation event.

  • Publication number: 20100147531
Abstract: A fluid operated apparatus in the form of a flow cap, is mounted on an end of a downhole tool or sub, which itself has a screw thread fitting to a further tool, sub or tubular. The cap provides a number of fluid flow channels arranged in a spiral pattern upon the outer surface. The handedness of the channels matches the handedness of the screw thread fitting so that fluid flow from ports in the tool or sub, acts to tighten the screw thread fitting. A water injection valve including a flow cap is described.

  • Patent number: 7705985
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a method for measuring the maturity or cell wall thickening of a sample of cellulosic fiber. The method at least includes exposing the sample of fiber to polarized light, capturing one or more images of the sample through crossed polar lenses and a compensator plate so that the image(s) include interference colors from the sample; and conducting computer analysis on the captured image(s) to determine the maturity or degree of cell wall thickening of the cellulosic fiber by comparing the image(s) to reference color interference data.
