Abstract: A support system (1) for substantially isolating an object (100) from abrupt movement of a foundation. The support system (1) has a frame (3) operatively attached to the foundation and a cradle (11) for supporting the object (100). The support system also has a horizontal isolation component (5) and a vertical isolation component (7). The horizontal isolation component (5) is configured to allow movement of the frame (3) relative to the foundation and dampen movement of the object (100) in a horizontal direction during abrupt movement of the foundation. The vertical isolation component is operatively connected between the frame (3) and the cradle (11). The vertical isolation component is configured to allow movement of the cradle (11) relative to the frame (3) in a vertical direction and dampen movement of the object (100) in a vertical direction during abrupt movement of the foundation.
