  • Patent number: 11686218
Abstract: A gas turbine engine having a bearing housing with a housing cavity and a shaft rotating about a rotation axis. One or more bearings support the shaft. A housing supporting the bearing and defining a chamber axially adjacent to the bearing. A seal assembly is in the housing between the chamber and an exterior of the chamber. The seal assembly includes a seal supported by the housing and surrounding the shaft so as to define an annular gap between an inner surface of the seal and an outer surface associated to the shaft, the gap defining a part of a sealing path of the seal assembly for air to flow from said exterior into the chamber. An impeller rotates with the shaft and located radially inward of the gap relative to the rotation axis, the impeller oriented to drive oil toward the bearing.

  • Patent number: 10851664
Abstract: A controlled gap radial oil sealing assembly in a gas turbine engine having a centre rotational axis defining an axial direction, the controlled gap radial sealing assembly comprises a seal element located around a cooperating seal runner and sized to define a controlled sealing gap between them, the seal runner having an axial length extending beyond an axial width of the seal element into an oiled region of the engine. A first annular surface radially outwardly spaced from and extending substantially along the axial length of the seal runner, the first annular surface sealingly cooperating with a seal housing of the seal element, and a second annular surface axially extending to overlap at least a portion of the first annular surface, the second annular surface radially outwardly spaced from the first annular surface relative to the center axis.

  • Patent number: 8180861
Abstract: A system and a method (100, 500) for integrating an uncertified client (104) with a certified host device (102) are provided. The integration system (100) is configured to integrate the uncertified client (104), which has a plurality of client applications (106), with the certified host device (102), and has a client virtual machine (108), host applications (142), and an abstraction layer (138, 156). The client virtual machine (108) is coupled to the uncertified client (104) and is configured to execute the plurality of client applications (106). The host applications (142) are coupled to the certified host device (102) and are configured to control host dependent features on the certified host device (102). The abstraction layer (138, 156) are coupled to the host applications (142) and to the client virtual machine (108), and are configured to translate feature calls from the plurality of client applications (106) to function calls for the host applications (142).

  • Patent number: 7536718
Abstract: A system and method for allowing a licensee having mobile station hardware to support its own set of carriers and software demands of these carriers, the software including licensor software, the method comprising the steps of: assigning a unique third party identifier to the licensee; assigning a range of carrier identifiers for the licensee; allowing the licensee to create a unique identifier by combining the unique third party identifier with an identifier chosen from the range of carrier identifiers; and associating, in a gateway program, the unique identifier with one or more software versions acceptable by a carrier for download onto the mobile station hardware.
