  • Patent number: 10308010
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for enhanced dryers for printing systems. One embodiment is an apparatus that includes a dryer for a continuous-forms printing system. The dryer includes heating elements located within an interior of the dryer that radiate infrared energy onto a web of printed media as the web travels through the interior, and an air knife that is interposed between the heating elements. The air knife includes a shell that directly absorbs infrared energy from the heating elements and also defines a passage for air to travel through the air knife onto the web. The shell directly absorbs infrared energy from each heating element that would otherwise overlap on the web with infrared energy from another heating element.

  • Patent number: 10288527
Abstract: A pressure sensing apparatus is provided for sensing gas pressure at a pressure tapping. The apparatus has a pressure sensor which provides a pressure measurement signal in response to the pressure of a gas admitted into the sensor at a gas inlet port thereof. The apparatus further has a gas conduit which extends from the inlet port. An end of the conduit distal from the inlet port is adapted to receive the gas at the pressure tapping. The apparatus further has a condenser on the gas conduit. The condenser contains condensation surfaces on which humidity in the gas flowing from the pressure tapping to the inlet port condenses out. In operation the temperature at the condenser is lower than at the pressure tapping.

  • Publication number: 20190094548
Abstract: Systems, devices, and methods for eyebox expansion in wearable heads-up displays (“WHUDs”) are described. The WHUDs described herein each include a projector and an optical waveguide positioned in an optical path between the projector and an eye of the user. For any given light signal from the projector, the optical waveguide receives the light signal at an input coupler and outputs multiple instances or copies of the light signal from multiple discrete, spatially-separated output couplers. The multiple instances or copies of the light signal may be converged by the optical waveguide directly to respective exit pupils at the user's eye or may be routed by the optical waveguide to a holographic combiner in the user's field of view from which the light signals may be converged to respective exit pupils at the user's eye. The optical waveguide employs exit pupil replication to expand the eyebox of the WHUD.

  • Patent number: 10218926
Abstract: A device, system and method of cross-talk reduction in visual sensor systems is provided. A display device is configured to provide first images viewable by a first visual sensor system, and second images, viewable by a second visual sensor system. The first images and the second images have common features which align when the first images and the second images are provided concurrently. The first images comprise wavelengths viewable by the second visual sensor system. A controller determines a second visual sensor system intensity component of the first images using a response curve of the second visual sensor system. The controller reduces intensity of the second images provided at the display device by the second visual sensor system intensity component of the first images, at least when the first images and the second images are concurrently provided.

  • Patent number: 10066980
Abstract: A guided wave radar fluid level measurement system can measure the level of product in a tank. A pulse of RF energy sent along a waveguide in the tank can be reflected where the waveguide enters the product. A time of flight measurement can indicate the product level. The product inside the tank can flow and that flow can push the waveguide and thereby torque and possibly bend the waveguide. A streamlined wave guide is torqued less when the streamlining is aligned with the direction of flow. A rotating connector can provide for the waveguide to rotate and a weathervane effect can align the streamlined waveguide with the flow.
