Abstract: A sampling device includes a rotatable knob, an end cap including a hollow connector, a hollow retraction chamber having a first chamber end and a second chamber end. Wherein the first chamber end is sealed against the rotatable knob, and the second chamber end is connected to, and in fluid communication with the end cap. A hollow tube having a tube first and tube second ends, the tube first end connected to, and in fluid communication with the hollow connector of the end cap, and the tube second end configured for connection to a lid of a fixed bed cell culture bioreactor system; a sampling element embedded inside the fixed-bed bioreactor system; and a retraction filament connecting the rotatable knob to the sampling element. Rotating the knob pulls the retraction filament and the sampling element upward through the hollow tube toward the rotatable knob and into the hollow retraction chamber.

Abstract: Provided herein is a mixer base assembly comprising: (a) a body having: (i) an upper end including a mating face for mixing vessel connection; (ii) a lower end including a cavity; (iii) a fluid mixing chamber having a bottom wall; (iv) a rounded side wall and a flat side wall, wherein the rounded side wall at a first part is the only wall encasing the fluid mixing chamber and at a second part joins with the flat side wall to encase the fluid mixing chamber; (v) an inlet port arranged in one of the side walls; (vi) an outlet port arranged in one of the side walls, and; (vii) at least one probe port arranged in one of side walls; (b) an impeller seat arranged in the cavity in the lower end of the body; and, (c) an impeller arranged in the impeller seat.

Abstract: An automated external defibrillator (AED) is provided with an electrode package mounted to an exterior surface of its casing. The electrode package includes a tray, two electrodes disposed in the tray, and a cover attached to the tray. The tray can include an outer rim that surrounds a recessed receptacle portion, with the cover being attached to the outer rim so as to cover the receptacle portion. The cover has a pull tab formed thereon and graphics that illustrate how the electrodes are accessed and used. A connector is mounted to the outer rim and has a first end that extends into the receptacle portion and a second end that extends out of the tray. The electrodes are connected to the first connector end, and the second end of the connector is inserted into a socket located on the exterior surface of the casing for electrically connecting the electrodes to the unit.
