  • Publication number: 20230195329
Abstract: In some examples, there is provided a method for a storage controller to receive a request to write data at a virtual location, writing data at the next free physical location in sequence, writing metadata correlating the virtual location with the physical location at the physical location, and writing a counter at the physical location. The recorded metadata can be used to re-construct the mapping between a given physical location and its corresponding virtual location if the virtual block address is somehow lost. The recorded counter can be used to determine the most recently recorded mapping between the virtual location and physical location, thereby resolving any discrepancies between earlier recorded metadata.

  • Publication number: 20230194593
Abstract: A health signature of each switching device in a control system is estimated using system parameters such as a DC-link voltage, three-phase voltages, three-phase currents, and temperature. The switching devices can be implemented as transistors, and a health signature for each transistor may be an on-state resistance or an on-state voltage of the transistors. For example, the on-state resistance for a metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistor (MOSFET) functions as a health signature. Alternatively, the on-state voltage is used as a health signature for an insulated-gate bipolar transistor (IGBT). Additionally, a junction temperature is estimated for each transistor. Using the estimated health signatures and the junction temperatures, the remaining useful life of each transistor is estimated.

  • Patent number: 11662477
Abstract: A system and method for determining the location of a vehicle when GNSS signals are not available use triangulation between one or two radio transmitters and, respectively, two or one radio receivers mounted on the vehicle. The distance between each radio transmitter and/or each radio receiver can be determined according a phase difference between received radio signals. The radio signals can have the geographical location of the radio transmitter included therein. Utilizing the demodulated geographical location of each radio transmitter and the distance between the radio transmitter and each radio receiver, triangulation can be used to determine the geographical location of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 11346725
Abstract: A temperature sensor for a cold reference junction of a thermocouple is provided that may be incorporated permanently or removeably in a releasable connector having a first connector part arranged to engage releasably with a second connector part in which the thermocouple conductors terminate, so forming a cold reference junction for the thermocouple. When the two parts of the connector are engaged, the temperature sensor of the present invention is able to sense the temperature in the vicinity of a cold reference junction in the connector. The temperature sensor may be provided by embedding one or more thermistors into a flexible disk or plate-like seal able to fit around the conductors of the first connector part such that the thermistors make electrical contact with selected conductors of the first connector part and thermal contact with the cold reference junction.
