  • Publication number: 20240029913
Abstract: There is disclosed a system for duality modulation separation of charged particle wave packets comprising a magnet cascade including a plurality of magnets arranged coaxially along a length of a beam path, a beam source coaxially aligned with the magnet cascade at an initial end of the beam path, the beam source providing a selected particle beam projected along the beam path; a particle deflection means located at a point along the beam path beyond the terminal end of a final magnet of the magnet cascade; wherein a selected particle emitted from the beam source travels along the beam path; wherein a significant characteristic fraction of a particle wave packet of the selected particle is an empty wave packet longitudinally separated from a particle-occupied wave packet along the beam path when the system is tuned with characteristic magnetic gradients and a characteristic particle beam velocity for the selected particle type.

  • Publication number: 20070292144
Abstract: A generator of duality modulated radiation, of which the irradiance, the wave intensity, or both, are varied from ordinarily equivalent levels, either for purposes of providing energy depleted or energy enriched radiation or for purpose of encoding an information signal. Various techniques are disclosed for restoring irradiance levels to “ordinary” levels, or for amplifying irradiance without affecting wave intensity. A communication system employing duality modulated radiation is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 4459435
Abstract: A privacy circuit for selective connection to a telephone line to provide for silencing of a preselected number of ringing signals before subsequent ringing signals are transmitted to a telephone to be heard by a user. The circuit derives power entirely from the ringing signal on the telephone line, counts the number of initial ringing signals and then actuates an electronic alternating-current switch when the preselected number of ring signals has been detected. A discharge circuit resets the device after ringing signals have ceased for a preselected time. The privacy circuit may also be used with its own annunciator rather than connected to a telephone.

  • Patent number: 4241728
Abstract: A shielded radioisotope injector device and a related method for its use. A conventional, unshielded hypodermic syringe is provided with a bypass insert between the syringe and needle, and a flexible tube coupled to the bypass insert provides an extended-length path from the needle to the syringe, most of the tube being contained within a shielded container. The radioisotope is drawn into the tube after an inert solution, such as saline, is first drawn in, then a further quantity of the inert solution is drawn in, to move the radioisotope totally into the shielded portion of the tube. Administration of the radioisotope as an intravenous injection, including pre- and post-injections of saline, is effected by driving the stored material into a patient's bloodstream.

  • Patent number: 4124804
Abstract: A method and apparatus for producing tomographic or cross-sectional radiographic images of a portion of a patient's anatomy, or of another object, by means of a planar-collimated gamma-ray source, from which the radiation is substantially confined to a single plane, and a conventional scintillation camera located to detect gamma radiation scattered from the object being examined, the scintillation camera including a collimator arranged to detect scattered radiation only from a direction perpendicular to the plane being examined.
