  • Publication number: 20080059946
Abstract: Techniques are provided for determining dependencies in a mainframe development environment. While executing a first build file to generate a first build of a software program from files in a file system, the activity in the file system is monitored to determine a plurality of files that are being accessed, and first information about the plurality of files is recorded. The first information is sent to a configuration management server. From the configuration management server, second information is received that indicates one or more dependencies which are determined among the plurality of files based on the first information. Based at least on the second information, a second build file is generated. The second build file is executed to generate a second build of the software program, where the second build is generated more efficiently by using less computing resources than the first build of the software program.

  • Publication number: 20070229018
Abstract: A permanent magnet brushless (PMBL) servo motor test apparatus and method allow testing of a motor in place. A set of static and dynamic tests is performed to determine proper motor operation of armature windings and rotor feedback devices. The test system of the present invention displaces the motor drive system. The test system comprises an armature driver, a feedback device input, and a system controller. The armature windings of the motor-under-test are driven in a polarity sequence according to a test sequence, whereby the rotor is driven in a series of rotations. Angle feedback is tested at a plurality of said rotations. Rotor velocity outputs are tested during said rotations. Armature current and voltage are determined at a plurality of said rotations and winding balance is tested. Said power switch is also operative to apply a voltage between the armature windings and the motor case to test for fault current flow.

  • Patent number: 7266465
Abstract: An apparatus for confirming a frequency measurement of a received signal includes a discrete Fourier transform (DFT) module for receiving a sampled digital signal. The DFT module is configured to analyze the received sampled digital signal, and output amplitude values at different frequency components. A threshold comparator is included for receiving the amplitude values of the frequency components and outputting a thresholded-amplitude value exceeding a predetermined threshold value. A frequency confirmation is provided based on the thresholded-amplitude value. The sampled digital signal is sampled at a sampling frequency of fs, and the DFT module is configured to analyze the received sampled digital signal at a frequency bandwidth that is equal to or less than fs. The frequency bandwidth is equal to the sampling frequency of fs, when the received sampled digital signal includes I and Q signals.

  • Patent number: 7206707
Abstract: An IFM receiver includes a hybrid for outputting I and Q signals from a received input signal; a first ADC for digitizing the I signal to produce a first digital signal at a sampling rate of 1/?, and a second ADC for digitizing the Q signal to produce a second digital signal at the same sampling rate. A processor is configured to (a) delay the first and second digital signals by at least one sample time of ?, (b) count the number of samples produced having predetermined phase shifts, and (c) determine the frequency of the received input signal, based on the number of samples having the predetermined phase shifts. The first and second ADCs are each 1-bit analog-to-digital converters. The predetermined phase shifts of 0°, 90°, ?90° and 180° are counted by the processor over a predetermined time interval.

  • Publication number: 20070004984
Abstract: High intensity ultrasound (HIU) is used to facilitate surgical procedures, such as a laparoscopic partial nephrectomy, with minimal bleeding. An apparatus is configured to emit HIU from one or more transducers that are attached to a minimally invasive surgical instrument. Such a tool preferably can provide sufficient clamping pressure to collapse blood vessels' walls, so that they will be sealed by the application of the HIU, and by the resulting thermal ablation and tissue cauterization. Such an instrument can provide feedback to the user that the lesion is completely transmural and that blood flow to the region distal of the line of thermal ablation has ceased. Similar instruments having opposed arms can be configured for use in conventional surgical applications as well. Instruments can be implemented with transducers on only one arm, and an ultrasound reflective material disposed on the other arm.

  • Publication number: 20030145101
Abstract: An embedded computing device and method for its use, the embedded computing device including a server application for receiving data transmitted to the embedded computing device under TCP/IP, wherein the server application is adapted to extract and buffer only predetermined portions of the transmitted data which are necessary for correct operation of the embedded computing device. There is further disclosed an embedded computing device and method for its use, the device being adapted to transmit data under TCP/IP, which data is too large to be held by available RAM in the embedded computing device, wherein the embedded computing device is adapted to intermix dynamic data content which must be held in RAM with static data content which is held in ROM, and to separate the dynamic data held in RAM from the static data content held in ROM by way of a predetermined off-line calculation mechanism which generates discrete data packets each of which will fit into an MTU (Maximum Transmission Unit).

  • Patent number: 6485303
Abstract: A hand-held dental instrument for intraoral abrading of teeth includes a light-weight body made from a high temperature material and having internal bores or passageways for permitting fluid flow through the body. A rotatable nozzle assembly having internal fluid conduits therein is coupled to a distal end of the body such that a chamber is formed between the nozzle and the body. The chamber maintains fluid communication between an internal bore which is radially offset from a central axis bore of the body and an internal conduit of the nozzle assembly such that the nozzle can be rotated a full 360 degrees with respect to the body. The nozzle assembly includes a primary discharge port for directing flow of the air/abrasive material mixture and a secondary discharge port for directing a stream of liquid to a surface to be abraded.
