    Abstract: A tiered memory system includes a tiered memory management system that is coupled to a first memory subsystem associated with a first memory subsystem tier, and a second memory subsystem associated with a second memory subsystem tier that is different than the first memory subsystem tier. The tiered memory management system monitors a health of the first memory subsystem associated with the first memory subsystem tier and the second memory subsystem associated with the second memory subsystem tier. When the tiered memory management system identifies a health issue with the first memory subsystem associated with the first memory subsystem tier, it moves data stored in the first memory subsystem associated with the first memory subsystem tier to the second memory subsystem associated with the second memory subsystem tier.

    Abstract: A bale compression device for receiving and compressing a bale of material. The device includes a press configured to compress the bale of material to a required compressed dimension, a binding applicator configured to apply a plurality of bindings around the bale of material prior to the bale being compressed, and a connector for connecting ends of each of the bindings to form a plurality of complete loops around the perimeter of the bale so that the plurality of loops act to hold the bale in a compressed state. The binding applicator acts to withdraw excess binding as the press compresses the bale, prior to the connector connecting the ends of each of the bindings, such that the complete loops are formed when the bale reaches its required compressed dimension.

    Abstract: An electric propulsion system for use in marine applications. The system comprises rechargeable battery cells, AC or DC electric motors for propulsion, control units to manage the flow of energy between the battery cells and the motor, a water cooling loop that pumps water through heat exchangers then out of the watercraft for thermal management. Closed cooling loops may be employed to thermally manage the motor, batteries, controllers, inverters, charging apparatus and other components by running through coolant through the cooling loops to properly chill or heat the coolant fluid. The unit is charged through shore based power, solar and other sources, including the possibility of power sources through hull or hanging turbines to generate mechanical energy from the flow of water as the watercraft is propelled. The whole system is controlled by a vehicle control unit and a battery management system.
