  • Publication number: 20220152421
Abstract: There is provided a particle accelerator comprising a waveguide for accelerating electrons along an acceleration path and a magnetron configured to supply a radiofrequency electromagnetic field to the waveguide. An oscilloscope is connected to the magnetron and configured to provide signals indicative of the magnetron output. A processor is configured to receive signals from the oscilloscope and to send data to a central server.

  • Publication number: 20160306814
Abstract: A method for displaying ship locations on a map is disclosed. The method comprises generating a database query for ship locations requested in a data request received from a client device via a network and retrieving results of the query from a location database using the generated database query, the results including the requested ship locations. The location database contains a plurality of records and each record includes at least information identifying a ship and a location of the ship. The method also includes packaging the results of the query in one of Keyhole Markup Language (KML), compressed KML (KMZ) and bitmap format and sending the packaged results of the query to the client device. A system for displaying ship locations on a map is also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20100120104
Abstract: The invention described herein presents compositions and methods for a multistep biological and chemical process for the capture and conversion of carbon dioxide and/or other forms of inorganic carbon into organic chemicals including biofuels or other useful industrial, chemical, pharmaceutical, or biomass products. One or more process steps in the present invention utilizes chemoautotrophic microorganisms to fix inorganic carbon into organic compounds through chemosynthesis. An additional feature of the present invention describes process steps whereby electron donors used for the chemosynthetic fixation of carbon are generated by chemical or electrochemical means, or are produced from inorganic or waste sources. An additional feature of the present invention describes process steps for the recovery of useful chemicals produced by the carbon dioxide capture and conversion process, both from chemosynthetic reaction steps, as well as from non-biological reaction steps.

  • Patent number: 5793046
Abstract: A scintillating optical fiber sensitive to low energy radiation has a clear, solid, elongated core with a thin cladding layer surrounding substantially all of the core along substantially all the length of the core and a dye dopant dispersed within the thin cladding layer. When a low energy radiation particle contacts the thin cladding layer, energy from the particle is transferred to photons having a radiant energy frequency determined by the dye dopant color, and a fraction of the photons are transmitted through the fiber by total internal reflection. A detector using the scintillating optical fiber is also disclosed having a sensor for detecting and indicating the presence of photons operatively connected to an end of at least one optical fiber, such that when the fraction of photons are transmitted through the fiber by total internal reflection to the end, the sensor detects the photons and subsequently provides an indication that low energy radiation has been detected.

  • Patent number: 3939014
Abstract: In the continuous strand method of processing high carbon steel wire for subsequent cold deformation, a zinc phosphate conversion coating is rapidly formed on the steel surface to aid in the subsequent deformation by contacting the steel surface with an aqueous acidic coating solution comprising phosphate, zinc and nitrate.
