  • Publication number: 20160352812
Abstract: A system includes a processor which has access to a representation of model of activity, which includes workspaces. Each workspace includes domain hierarchies for representing an organizational structure of the collaborating users using the system, and initiatives hierarchies representing process structures for accomplishing goals. An interface permits users to view and modify the workspaces for which the user has access. Each user can have different access permissions in different workspaces. The domain and initiative hierarchies provide two views of the workspace objects without duplicating resources. A resource is a collection of shared elements defined by the users that give users associated with the workspace access to information sources. Users can define knowledge boards for creating reports based on information fields of the resources. The knowledge board is associated with a resource template from which the resource is created.

  • Patent number: 9367571
Abstract: Techniques used in a system for collaborative work which gives collaborators unskilled in data processing technologies access to a variety of information resources to provide the collaborators with information resources which are obtained in response to parameterized information requests such as queries. The techniques use records in database tables to represent a class of parameterized information requests. Information for instances of the class includes queries that may be used in the instances and default values for bind parameters in the queries. Values for the bind parameters may also be specified for classes of user interfaces that employ the information sources returned by the parameterized information requests and for instances of the user interface. A user may also use specify values for bind parameters in his or her instance of the user interface.

  • Publication number: 20100318511
Abstract: Improved techniques for using connectors in a system for collaborative work for users unskilled in data processing techniques, including UI techniques. Data may be augmented by associating a connector query to obtain additional data and the data viewed in a “drill down” fashion, or by associating an additional resource for entering additional data by clicking on a link: the additional resource is created as needed and is a full-fledged resource of the system. A number of other connector queries may be combined into a single query that composes them, and information from different information sources may be combined easily, such as to make the form consistent; the information may also be transformed in a complex fashion. An alternative source for an information result may be used by a connector query to optimize performance, such as a cached result.

  • Publication number: 20080052358
Abstract: A system for performing collaborative tasks which permits collaborators to determine the form of a model of the collaborative work, to modify the model in the course of the collaborative work, and to use the model to access information related to the collaborative work. A graphical user interface permits collaborators to view the model and the information accessible via the model in various ways as well as to modify the model and the information. The information related to the collaborative work includes documents, discussions, email, reminders, and alerts. In a disclosed embodiment of the system, the model is made up of model entities which belong to hierarchies. A model entity may be a member of more than one hierarchy and the different hierarchies are used to provide different views of the model.
