  • Publication number: 20250000273
Abstract: A mattress including a support core formed from a high-density foam, one or more comfort layers, and a mattress cover is disclosed. The support core includes a top face, a bottom face, a first lateral face, and a second lateral face with a cranial flexion channel, a caudal flexion channel, and at least one stress relief channel position on the bottom face. The cranial flexion channel and the caudal flexion channel are each formed from gaps having a width of 0.5 to 2.5 inches and the at least one stress relief channel is formed from a cut in the high-density foam extending between the first lateral face and the second lateral face. The cranial flexion channel, the caudal flexion channel, and the at least one stress relief channel each have a depth leaving a residual thickness of intact high-density foam of 1 inch to 3 inches aligned with each channel.

  • Publication number: 20240260761
Abstract: A mattress including an inner spring assembly, a panel of micro-coils, and a quilted panel is disclosed. The innerspring assembly includes a plurality of spring elements and defines a support surface. The spring elements are arranged in rows defining upper, central, and lower spring structure areas. The panel of micro-coils is positioned over the support surface in the central spring structure area. The quilted panel includes a ticking material, a backing material, and a support material having a degree of compression provided between the ticking and backing materials. The ticking material, the support material and the backing material are all quilted together with an increased amount of stitching in a center section of the quilted panel aligned with the central spring structure such that the support material pre-compresses in the center section thereby defining a pocket. The panel of micro-coils is provided in alignment with the pocket.

  • Patent number: 7886385
Abstract: A quilted zoned topper formed with a quilted panel and a memory foam is disclosed. The quilted panel has a ticking material, a backing material, and a support material having a degree of compression provided between the ticking and backing materials. The ticking material, the support material and the backing material all are quilted together by a stitching pattern providing an increased amount of stitching in a center section of the quilted panel than adjacent head and foot sections of the quilted panel such that the support material pre-compresses in the center section thereby defining a pocket. The memory foam is provided in the pocket. A mattress provided with the quilted zoned topper is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 7181796
Abstract: A mattress spring structure (10) is provided with a strengthened central area (C) thereon to provide greater support for a user's body lumbar region when received thereon. The support is provided with a strengthening structure (30) having a continuous frame member (54) and a strengthening pattern (53). The continuous frame (54) encircles coil springs (12) over a major expanse of the mattress's central area (C); this frame is connected to mattress coils along the frames longitudinal (34, 36) and traverse (38, 40) segments. The strengthening pattern (53) has two metal bars (51, 52) arranged inside and connected to the continuous frame member (54). The strengthening pattern (53) may be connected to the spring coils (12) and contain additional metal straps (56, 59).
