  • Patent number: 7710859
Abstract: A fault-tolerant router includes first and second router matrix card. The first and second router matrix cards receive a common set of 4n parity encoded input digital audio data streams and respectively generates therefrom, first and second sets of M output digital audio streams. As the first and second sets of data streams propagate along the first and second router matrix cards, respectively, one or more health bits are set whenever an error or other type of fault condition is detected. First and second parity check circuits are configured to detect parity errors and/or assess the relative health of the first and second sets of data streams and one of the two sets of data streams is selected as the output of the fault-tolerant router based upon either the parity error analysis, health analysis or both.

  • Patent number: 7624284
Abstract: A system and method for enforcing a usage control for a document, including: receiving an encrypted message, the encrypted message including a first key and a usage information authorization for the document, the encrypted message responsive to a second key to extract the first key and the usage information authorization; accepting an encrypted device datastream and securely decrypting the encrypted device datastream using the first key by a device, the device manager: generating a decrypted device datastream derived from the encrypted device datastream, transmitting the decrypted device datastream to the device without writing the decrypted device datastream to a user-accessible memory; and using the second key to access a datastore and to update a usage record for the document with the usage information authorization and a device status signal, the serializer providing the device manager with the print authorization signal when a device request is consistent with the usage record.

  • Patent number: 7184157
Abstract: A print job is preferably displayed using a visual job ticketing application. An operator is enabled to create multiple job tickets describing print parameters to be applied to the print job. Using the visual job ticketing application, the operator may select a previously created job ticket to be used to display and/or print the print job. Alterations made to the print job are automatically propagated across all associated print job tickets. When creating new print job tickets, the operator may choose to start with a blank job ticket, a default job ticket, the last active job ticket or any previously created job ticket.

  • Publication number: 20050274218
Abstract: Transmissions in which the mechanical gear shift arrangements are replaced by electro-hydraulic operated shift mechanisms that have to be able to be neutralised positively to ensure a proper operation. An arrangement and method are provided to determine the position of the shift rail so a shift can be made only if the conditions are right. To prevent engagement of two shift members at the same time and consequent damage in case of electronic failure, mechanical safety features such as detents are included.

  • Publication number: 20050092115
Abstract: A shift control method for an automated manual transmission is provided. The method includes the step of modulating the force applied to a shift collar, via a shift rod and/or shift fork for example, during the engagement of the shift collar and a selected gear. The method modulates the initial engagement force applied to the shift collar when the rotational speed differential between the collar and gear is being adjusted, before increasing the force again following modulation. This modulation of the force decelerates the shift collar during the rotational speed adjustment and does not accelerate the shift collar to complete the engagement until after the modulation. In this way, a less abrupt engagement of the gear may be achieved. The control method may improve the driving characteristics of the vehicle employing the transmission and may also improve the power transmission efficiency.
