    Abstract: A variable length bait applicator allows bait to be placed or held in remote locations. Rods are attached to one another to attain a desired length by inserting a securing extension in a rod first end into an open second end in a second rod. A bait holder is secured to the rod(s) by inserting a rod securing extension into an access opening in the bait holder first end. The bait holder is provided with a splined pin or shaft extension having protrusions and retainers on a second end. An access opening in the bait holder allows a snap lock on the securing extension that is secured over a locking protrusion on the bait holder to be disengaged.
