In the method hardness of the crank pin surface is measured and when the hardness is over a predetermined limit value, depth of the hard spot is measured. Heat treatment parameters are determined at least on the basis of the depth measurement and the hard spot is heat treated. During the heat treatment the hard spot is heated by an induction heating device.

Abstract: A circular hole saw blade is provided with a removable edge protector. The edge protector is in the form of a cylindrical loop of stiff elastic polymer material inserted coaxially into the blade alongside an inner cylindrical surface thereof. The loop has an inner axial end situated inside of the blade and an outer axial end disposed axially outwardly of the cutting teeth of the blade.

Abstract: A package for a product includes a base plate on which the product is disposed, and a bridge disposed on the base plate in overlying relationship to a first portion of the product. A lid is disposed in overlying relationship to a second portion of the product and is secured to the base plate by a sliding connection which guides the lid for limited sliding movement parallel to the base plate to expose the second portion of the product. The sliding connection constrains the lid against dislodgment from the base plate in a direction perpendicular to the base plate. An intermediate plate is disposed between the base plate and the lid and is arranged to prevent the sliding movement of the lid. The intermediate plate is formed of a tearable material, such as cardboard, wherein tearing of the intermediate plate releases the lid for the sliding movement.

Abstract: A holesaw includes an arbor for supporting a pilot drill and a bell-shaped sawblade. The sawblade is attached to a lower threaded portion of the arbor. A pin support with at least one pin engages the top of the holesaw blade and is axially movable but not rotationally movable relative to the arbor. A clamping sleeve is threaded onto an upper threaded portion of the arbor. The clamping sleeve can be screwed down to press against the bell top of the sawblade. A spring may be disposed between the clamping sleeve and the pin support.

Abstract: The invention relates to an arrangement for tensioning a seat belt in an automotive vehicle in the event of a collision. The belt extends through a slot in a displaceable and rotatable drum. One end of a tensioning strap is inserted into the slot and connected to a wedge located therein. The other end of the tensioning strap is attached to the chassis of the vehicle. When the drum is rotated, by means of a drive means intended herefor, both the tensioning strap and the belt strap are reeled onto the drum, therewith causing the drum to be displaced downwards while reducing the effective length of the belt strap.
