  • Patent number: 4069435
Abstract: In a bearing assembly having at least two relatively rotatable members, a device having means for generating a magnetic field and means for sensing variation in the magnetic field, said bearing assembly including means for inducing variations in the magnetic flux which variations have a frequency proportional to the rotational speed of one member relative to other member, said inducing means being associated with one of said members and said means for sensing variations being associated with said other bearing member and seal means partly defined by said members completely sealing said inducing and sensing means.

  • Patent number: 3952820
Abstract: A wheel and bearing unit for a vehicle comprising inner and outer rings in between which two rows of rolling bodies and sealing means are applied. The outer or inner ring is connected to a member of a brake device while the inner forms a connecting means for the wheel and a shaft. The unit is characterized in that the wheel is mainly a conical shaped disc one side of which is smooth while the other side is provided with connecting means for connecting the disc to the bearing inner ring and brake device parts. The disc is further provided with air cooling apertures having edges which can lead cooling air streams mainly in the direction of the brake device.

  • Patent number: 3944305
Abstract: A roller bearing provided with flanges and having an inner ring, an outer ring and roller elements therebetween, sealed to prevent penetration of foreign matter, and constructed so that at least one of the rings is integral with two flanges extending on either side of the ring.

  • Patent number: 3940194
Abstract: Wheel bearing application, including same for a wholly unloaded, rigid rear shaft, comprising drive means arranged in a sleeve portion for transferring torsional movement from a drive shaft and a bearing consisting of a moment-carrying, play-adjusted, rigid inner-ring-rotated roller bearing. The inner ring comprises two directly adjacent separate rings that are fitted on the sleeve portion and an outer ring of one piece, with rolling bodies arranged between the inner and outer rings.

  • Patent number: 3936105
Abstract: A bearing is provided with an inner and an outer ring, at least the innerring forming an integral part of a fixing or supporting flange, and rolling elements, arranged between the rings in a bearing-cage. Sealing elements prevent the penetration of dust, dirt and the like, while on the other hand retain the lubricant between the rings. The sealing element further includes a relatively rigid fixing part, the size thereof in radial direction being determined by the maximum eccentric or radial displacement of the rings with regard to one another during the assembly.

  • Patent number: 3934966
Abstract: A pump unit for liquid-cooled internal combustion engines preferably for vehicle engines and of the type including a pump unit housing, an impeller, a drive member operatively connected to the impeller to rotate the same and forming therewith a rotatable assembly, bearing means supporting the drive member for rotation relative to the housing and a seal adapted to seal an annular space between the rotatable assembly and housing characterized in that the axial length of the pump unit as measured from the impeller to the oppositely located end of the drive member and the pitch diameter of the bearing are of about the same order of magnitude.
