  • Patent number: 7070332
Abstract: The combination of a bearing housing and a load measuring plate includes a bearing housing having a foot member possessing a substantially rectangular outer contour, with outer wall portions and transverse intermediate wall portions forming a planar overall contact surface to be in contact with and resting upon a load measuring plate. The load measuring plate is internally equipped with load measuring devices. The outer contour of the load measuring plate is closely adapted to the outer contour of the foot member of the bearing housing.

  • Patent number: 7037026
Abstract: A method for mounting an axially split sleeve provided with an axial slot on a shaft so that a tapering surface on the sleeve cooperates with a tapering bore of a machine member. A flange is axially connected to the sleeve and supports a number of spaced apart tightening devices that are to be urged against the machine member for mutually displacing the machine member and the sleeve to increase the grip between the shaft, the sleeve and the machine member. The method involves positioning the sleeve around the shaft with the annular flange positioned with its tightening devices against the machine member, tightening a first one of the tightening devices which is located at a position diametrically opposite the slot in the sleeve, and thereafter tightening further ones of the tightening devices one by one.

  • Patent number: 6736027
Abstract: An attachment device for a bore-provided machine member on a cylindrical shaft. A two-part sleeve is arranged in an annular space between the shaft and the machine member to provide a clamping force between the machine member and the shaft. The sleeve parts have mating cooperating taper surfaces that face each other so that upon mutual displacement of the sleeve parts the overall radial size of the sleeve parts changes. A first ring member is arranged about the shaft and forms a stop for one of the sleeve parts and a supporting device is adapted to move the machine member with respect to the shaft to cause mutual displacement of the sleeve parts. A second ring member positioned between the two-part sleeve and the machine member has a tapering bore, a tapering outer surface, and an inwardly projecting abutment for a second one of the sleeve parts.

  • Patent number: 6549134
Abstract: Temperature monitoring device for monitoring or controlling the temperature of an object, and preferably indicating and/or recording abnormal temperature variations of the object includes a housing having a contact portion for contacting the object, a sensing member in heat transferring contact with the contact portion for emitting signals representative of the object temperature, a control device that receives signals from the sensing member and actuates an indicator, a power source connectable to the sensing member, the control device and the indicator, and a switch biased to interrupt the power supply to the sensing member, control device and indicator. A portion of the housing is movable between a first position where the switch interrupts the power supply and a second position in which the housing portion urges the switch to the power supply position.

  • Patent number: 6428257
Abstract: A locking nut includes a threaded main bore for receiving a threaded portion and a number of oblique bores in each of which is positioned a locking pin having a forward end for engagement against the threaded portion. The oblique bore and the associated locking pin have a common longitudinal axis extending at generally the same angle to the axis of the threaded main bore as one of the flanks of the thread of the threaded main bore so that the forward end of the locking nut has at least one flank generally parallel to the longitudinal axis and lying parallel to the portions of the one flank of the threaded main bore adjacent the inner end of the oblique bore. Each locking nut is generally cylindrical and possesses an outer surface that is grooved or serrated to facilitate insertion of the locking nut into the respective oblique bore.

  • Patent number: 6375383
Abstract: An attachment device for arresting a machine member having a substantially cylindrical bore on a cylindrical shaft includes first and second sleeve members adapted to be positioned in a space between the outer surface of the shaft and the inner surface of the bore in the machine member. The two sleeve members have mating, cooperating taper surfaces in the form of a plurality of saw-tooth-shaped axially tapering sections that face one another. At least one of the sleeve members is movable for displacement relative to the other sleeve member to change the radial size of at least one of the sleeve members. The end edge of the first sleeve member projects axially beyond an adjacent end edge of the second sleeve member for receiving an external pushing force causing the first element to be displaced relative to the second element to cause the relative displacement of the sleeve members. The opposite end edge of the second sleeve members engages a stop that may be formed on the machine member.
