  • Patent number: 7865739
Abstract: Methods and devices for transferring data from a non-volatile memory to a working memory of an electronic data processing device are provided. Security data is copied from the non-volatile memory to the working memory. The security data is to be write-protected. A blocking function is activated for the security data in the working memory. The activation is triggered by the copying being made to the working memory. All communication with the working memory is monitored. All write attempts to the copied security data stored in the working memory are blocked according to the blocking function. At least activating a blocking function, monitoring communication and blocking write attempts are performed independently of a central processing unit of the electronic data processing device, such that the central processing unit cannot manipulate the security data.

  • Patent number: 7391410
Abstract: A movement input device for use on a touch screen and a portable electronic device including such a device are described. The movement input device includes a fastening unit securing the movement input device on the portable electronic device, and a user input unit extending through the fastening unit. The user input unit includes a user actuation part protruding from a top side of the fastening unit and actuatable by a user for free angular movement around an axis (X) and a touch screen contact part protruding from a bottom side of the fastening unit, which is arranged to contact the touch screen in a position where at least an angle of the contact position corresponds to an angle of the user actuation part. Movement of the user input unit is thus detected on the touch screen.

  • Patent number: 6309100
Abstract: The temperature of a liquid crystal display (LCD), for example provided in a mobile telephone, is measured by covering the LCD with a conductive touch screen bottom sheet having a known resistance-temperature relationship. A temperature-stable resistor is connected to the touch screen bottom sheet, and a voltage is applied across the resistor and the sheet. The voltage signal between the resistor and the touch screen bottom sheet is measured and converted to digital representation by an A/D-converter. The measured voltage signal is used to calculate the temperature of the touch screen bottom sheet, which is substantially equal to the temperature of the LCD.

  • Patent number: 6285421
Abstract: The present invention discloses an liquid crystal display (LCD) device comprising temperature measuring means. An adhesion material (5), situated either between the top (2) and bottom (3) sheets of the LCD (1) itself or between the LCD and a covering sheet, such as a printed circuit board or a touch screen, having a temperature dependent electrical property, is used as the temperature probe. The electrical property is preferably the electrical conductivity and the adhesion material (5) preferably encircles substantially the active area (4) of the LCD (1). Manufacturing and operational methods for such devices are also disclosed.
