  • Patent number: 6409266
Abstract: A device for adjusting lateral position of a chair armrest relative to a chair seat comprises a base securely attached to the chair seat and having a number of positioning holes, an extension extended from an armrest of the chair and slidably received in the base along a lateral direction relative to the seat, and a positioning member including an intermediate portion pivotally attached to the extension, a first operative end, and a second end releasably engaged with at least one of the positioning holes. A mounting member is mounted to the underside of the positioning member and has a stub extended through a through-hole in the intermediate portion of the positioning member. A bolt is extended through the stub and engaged with the extension, thereby pivotally mounting the positioning member between the extension and the mounting member.

  • Patent number: 6398309
Abstract: An armrest assembly includes a tube secured to a chair seat and an adjusting seat mounted in the tube. An actuating member includes a vertical section slidably received in a longitudinal groove of the adjusting seat. A slide member is slidably attached to the vertical portion of the actuating member to move therewith. An armrest is securely mounted to the actuating member to move therewith. An operative member is securely attached to the slide member for manual operation. Two positioning members are respectively, releasably engaged with two sets of vertically spaced positioning notches in the adjusting seat under the control of the slide member that is moved by the operative member.

  • Patent number: 6209961
Abstract: An armrest assembly includes a tube secured to a chair seat and an adjusting seat mounted in the tube. The adjusting seat includes an adjusting section having a first vertical slide passage. A peripheral side defining the first vertical slide passage includes a number of vertically spaced positioning notches. The adjusting section further includes a second vertical slide passage, the first vertical side passage and the second vertical slide passage together defining a loop passage. An armrest is mounted above the adjusting seat. An actuating member includes an upper end secured to the armrest to move therewith. The actuating member further includes a lower end slidably received in the adjusting seat. A positioning member is attached to the actuating member and includes an end slidable along the loop passage so as to be selectively and releasably engaged in one of the positioning notches for supporting the armrest at a desired level.

  • Patent number: 5895095
Abstract: An armrest assembly includes a base having a lower end secured to the chair and an upper end, a vertical post mounted to the upper end of the base and adjustable in a vertical direction relative to the upper end of the base, the vertical post including a guide pin mounted thereto, and an armrest securely attached to the vertical post to move therewith in the vertical direction. The armrest includes an elongated slot defined therein through which the guide pin extends. The elongated slot extends in a horizontal direction at an angle with a longitudinal axis of the armrest, whereby a sliding movement of the armrest relative to the vertical post causes the armrest to move in a longitudinal direction and a transverse direction on a horizontal plane on which the armrest locates.
