Abstract: A method and an apparatus select a domain of an application server in order to support a voice call continuity service in a mobile communication system including an IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) domain and a Circuit Switched (CS) domain. The method includes selecting either the IMS domain or the CS domain according to a dynamic domain selection priority which is predetermined corresponding to a terminal when a voice call for the terminal is received. The method also includes anchoring the received voice call corresponding to the terminal through the selected domain. A voice call establishment for a terminal using first the most recent domain which is used for a voice call in a mobile communication system is initiated. Thus, it is possible in a mobile communication system to increase the domain selecting completion rates for a voice call service corresponding to a terminal.

Abstract: A roaming service providing method and a system thereof are provided. The communication network system providing an inter-network roaming service, includes: a packet service network providing a packet based service; a circuit service network providing a circuit based service; and a roaming gateway acquiring and authenticating a service profile of a first terminal in the packet service network when the first terminal requests registration to the circuit switching network, and converting and providing the service profile into a protocol of the circuit service network such that the circuit service network registers the first terminal.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for providing roaming service in a wireless communication system. A roaming gateway for performing communication between an Internet protocol multimedia subsystem (IMS) network and a circuit switched (CS) network receives an authentication request for a roaming mobile station (MS), which roams from an IMS network to a CS network, from a mobile service center (MSC) of the CS network, acquires authentication information for the roaming MS and service information for services, with which the roaming MS has been provided from the IMS network, at the authentication request, checks if the roaming MS is entitled to use the services according to the service information by using the authentication information and the service information, and sends an authentication success message to the MSC when the roaming MS is entitled to use the services.

Abstract: There are provided a method and apparatus for performing a login by a Mobile Station (MS) in a wireless communication system. In an Internet Protocol Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) network in a wireless communication system, an MS transmits a temporary login request to an IMS server by using a subscriber identity (ID) as a virtual Private Identity (PRID) and receives information about registered PRIDs that are associated with the subscriber ID. The MS determines whether at least one of PRIDs managed by the MS is unregistered in the IMS server. If at least one of the managed PRIDs is unregistered in the IMS server, the MS performs login to the IMS server using one of the managed PRIDs that is unregistered in the IMS server. If none of the managed PRIDs are unregistered in the IMS server, the MS performs login to the IMS server using one of the managed PRIDs that is registered.

Abstract: A method and system for disconnecting a terminating connection leg in a dialed service for a mobile subscriber in an MSC in a mobile intelligent network. Upon receipt of Int_Disconnect_Leg (Leg2) from an SCP in a DP_Analysed_Info state in a call initialization procedure for handling of an MO or MF call, The MSC transmits Int_Disconnect_Leg_Ack to the SCP, releases Leg2, and enters a Leg2_Disconnected state. Upon receipt of Int_Continue in the Leg2_Disconnected state, the MSC sets “Result” to “Leg1_Only”. Upon receipt of Int_Continue_With_Argument in the Leg2_Disconnected state, the MSC modifies stored information by information included in the message, and sets “Result” to “Leg1_Only”. The MSC provides supplementary functions under the control of the SCP if “Result” is “Leg1_Only”.

Abstract: A method and system for providing service menu information when an alerting service is provided between a calling terminal and a called terminal are provided. For this includes transmitting, by a calling terminal, a call setup request message including a service menu request; comparing, by a first server, service capability information of the calling terminal with service capability information of a called terminal, when it is necessary to evaluate the service capability information of the calling and called terminals, upon receipt of the call setup request message; and providing, by the first server, service menu to the calling and called terminals according to the comparison.

Abstract: A system and method provide calling and called terminals with multimedia alerting signals such as a ringtone and ringback tone. When desiring to receive first multimedia portal contents as a multimedia alerting signal, the calling terminal presets the first multimedia portal contents and makes a call connection setup request. When desiring to provide second multimedia portal contents as a ringback tone, a called terminal presets the second multimedia portal contents and notifies that the ringtone and ringback tone are set. A Personal Internet Protocol Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) Portal (PIP) server receives call connection setup-related signals from the calling and called terminals, decides to provide particular multimedia portal contents as the ringback tone according to a predefined priority decision criterion when the calling and called terminals set the multimedia portal contents, and provides the set multimedia portal contents.

Abstract: A method is provided for providing a multimedia content type ring-back by an origination terminal in a communication system. The method includes providing a multimedia content type ring-back including menu keys mapped to services; and providing a service mapped to a particular menu key, upon receipt of the particular menu key while providing the multimedia content type ring-back. Further, a method is provided for providing a multimedia content type bell by a destination terminal in a communication system. The method includes providing a multimedia content type bell including menu keys mapped to services; and providing a service mapped to a particular menu key, upon receipt of the particular menu key while providing the multimedia content type bell.

Abstract: A system and method for providing a service in a user-selected communication mode in an IP multimedia communication system are provided. In a method of providing a service between a calling terminal and a called terminal in a communication system including a plurality of calling and called terminals and a network server, the calling terminal transmits a request message containing predetermined information for a call connection to the called terminal. The called terminal analyzes the information of the request message and transmitting a response message containing accept information for the request message to the calling terminal. The calling and called terminals perform bi-directional communications by changing a current communication mode in response to the response message.

Abstract: A system is provided for transmitting/receiving alerting information in a wireless communication system. A calling mobile terminal (MT) encodes a session initiate protocol (SIP) invite message comprising multimedia alerting information and transmitting the encoded SIP invite message. An Internet protocol multimedia subsystem (IMS) server receives the SIP invite message from the calling MT, and transmits the SIP invite message to the called MT according to service profile of the calling MT and the called MT. The called MT decodes encoded multimedia alerting information in the received SIP invite message and message and plays back the multimedia alerting information.
