Abstract: Embodiments are disclosed for one-to-many and many-to-many ranging using narrowband assisted (NBA)-multi-millisecond (MMS) ultra wideband (UWB) protocols. Some embodiments include an initiator device that communicates with many responder devices. For example, the initiator device can transmit a control/initialization poll message via NB signaling that identifies a ranging cycle, and transmit a first set of MMS segments corresponding to the control/initialization poll message. The initiator device can receive a plurality of report frames from two or more responder devices via NB signaling subsequent to transmitting the first set of MMS segments, and transmit within the ranging cycle, a ranging results report message based at least on the plurality of report frames via narrowband signaling.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a software upgrade method and apparatus, and a device. The method is applied to a software upgrade of a digital television terminal and includes: obtaining a DSI table in an upgrade data stream according to location information of the upgrade data stream that is carried in an upgrade notification message, where the DSI table carries upgrade software description information; displaying the upgrade software description information and upgrade prompt information to a user if it is determined, according to the upgrade software description information, to upgrade local software; and after the user determines to upgrade software, obtaining an upgrade software mirror in the upgrade data stream, and updating the local software according to the upgrade software mirror.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a method for improving the call success rate and a base station system thereof, which send reverse power control bits by using a specific parameter value according to the distance between a user and a base station, so as to improve the probability that the base station captures the mobile station and thereby improve the call success rate. The method includes the following steps of: distinguishing user type according to information in an origination message from a mobile station, and setting an initial value of a forward transmission power; and a base station sending a forward traffic channel null frame to the mobile station according to the initial value of the forward transmission power, wherein the forward traffic channel null frame contains reverse power control bits information.
