Abstract: Methods and systems of processing a data stream are disclosed. A developer may develop a service only by programming a Service Unit (SU) including a service logic (SL) and including a Service Unit Description Language (SUDL) file, so that the developer may not need to program complicated stream processing code, such as stream source connection code, network input/output (I/O) code, and buffering code. In addition, the stream source connected dynamically to the service and a service execution mode (such as push and pull modes) may be converted by simply changing setting files based on the service model. The system includes modules for managing and processing the stream in reality, such as stream source connection modules, network I/O processing modules, and stream buffering modules, the modules operating the developed program through the service model.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for handover based on a dynamic beamforming scheme, which is adapted to a mobile communication system including a mobile node and a base station, is provided. The apparatus includes a mobile profile information processor configured to process mobile profile information based on a location of the mobile node, and to generate a beamforming control signal according to the mobile profile information; a handover indication message processor configured to generate a first handover indication message incorporating the mobile profile information in preparation for a handover of the mobile node; a transceiver configured to transmit the first handover indication message; and a beamforming controller configured to control beamforming for transmission of the transceiver according to the beamforming control signal.

Abstract: An apparatus and method of determining a number of data transmissions in a sensor network are provided. More particularly, an apparatus for determining a number of data transmissions preferably includes an interest zone detector for detecting an interest zone based on a user query, a zone determination unit for determining whether the interest zone is overlapped with a sensing zone, a zone calculator for calculating an overlap amount when the interest zone is overlapped with the sensing zone, and a transmission number determination unit for determining a number of data transmissions according to the overlap amount.

Abstract: A data aggregation method and data aggregation apparatus are provided. More particularly the data aggregation method includes: generating a plurality of data aggregation trees according to connection relationships between clusters that constitute a sensor network using a geographical code (GGC), selecting a single activation zone for each of the clusters which configures each of the plurality of data aggregation trees, selecting a maximum energy tree having a maximum total residual energy from the plurality of data aggregation trees, based on the single activation zone, and generating a tree list including activation zone information which corresponds to the maximum energy tree, and information about the maximum energy tree.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for testing a ubiquitous service or a ubiquitous device using a uniform object model are provided. Because a virtual ubiquitous environment is constructed with devices, services, users, layouts, and the like, physical construction of the ubiquitous environment to test services or devices is not needed. Therefore, the effectiveness of the ubiquitous device or service can be confirmed without requiring a ubiquitous environment to be physically constructed. Additionally, time or cost of constructing a ubiquitous environment can be reduced. Because a variety of environments can be easily constructed through the test of devices or services, the performances of the devices or services can also be improved.

Abstract: A system and method for saving sensor power consumption based on context information on a wireless sensor network are provided. Basic context information is received from inside and outside of a network system including at least one sensor, wherein context information based on the basic context information is determined by inference, a group of expected services corresponding to the context information is determined, a sensor operation mode according to the group of expected services is determined, and control data is transmitted to the sensor according to the sensor operation mode. Accordingly, a sensor operation mode is adaptively determined according to changes of context information so that power consumption of a sensor can be saved.

Abstract: A sensor network and method for task maintenance query using a query cache are provided. When a query generated by a user is transmitted through a relay node to a sensor node, the relay node can accurately transmit the query to a newly installed sensor node or a sensor node moving from another area to a specific area using a query cache. Thus, the reliability of the transmission of the query can be improved, and thus a task of the query can be maintained.

Abstract: A method of processing emergent data in a wireless sensor network is provided in which the latest information is collected from each sensor node and stored, newly-received sensing data are determined as emergent data if an error is over a certain value compared to the latest information from each node, and the emergent data are added with average data of neighbor nodes and transmitted to a sink node. Accordingly, whether neighbor sensor nodes are normal in a wireless sensor network can be determined and managed. An intermediate node can process emergent data generated from each sensor node and separate data by a sensor malfunction or urgent data so that a malfunction of each sensor node can be easily determined and reliability of sensing data of each sensor node can be improved.
