Patent number: 11948367Abstract: A method and system for multi-object tracking is set forth. Object data for boundaries of a plurality of objects are received. Poisson multi-Bernoulli mixture filtering is performed on the object data to form a filtered set of object data. Ultimately, the filtered set of object data is used to control the operation of the vehicle. Identifiers and probabilities are associated with the objects to reduce the set of object data.Type: GrantFiled: June 17, 2021Date of Patent: April 2, 2024Assignee: Board of Trustees of Michigan State UniversityInventors: Hayder Radha, Su Pang

Patent number: 11790542Abstract: Accurate vehicle localization is arguably the most critical and fundamental task for autonomous vehicle navigation. While dense 3D point-cloud-based maps enable precise localization, they impose significant storage and transmission burdens when used in city-scale environments. A highly compressed representation for LiDAR maps, along with an efficient and robust real-time alignment algorithm for on-vehicle LiDAR scans, is proposed here. The proposed mapping framework, requires less than 0.1% of the storage space of the original 3D point cloud map. In essence, mapping framework emulates an original map through feature likelihood functions. In particular, the mapping framework models planar, pole and curb features. These three feature classes are long-term stable, distinct and common among vehicular roadways. Multiclass feature points are extracted from LiDAR scans through feature detection.Type: GrantFiled: July 29, 2020Date of Patent: October 17, 2023Assignee: Board of Trustees of Michigan State UniversityInventors: Hayder Radha, Daniel Morris, Su Pang

Publication number: 20230282000Abstract: At a first timestep, one or more first objects can be determined in a first fusion image based on determining one or more first radar clusters in first radar data and determining one or more first two-dimensional bounding boxes in first camera data. First detected objects and first undetected objects can be determined by inputting the first objects and the first radar clusters into a data association algorithm, which determines first probabilities and adds the first radar clusters and the first objects to one or more of first detected objects or first undetected objects by determining a cost function. The first detected objects and the first undetected objects can be input to a first Poisson multi-Bernoulli mixture (PMBM) filter to determine second detected objects, second undetected objects and second probabilities. The second detected objects and the second undetected objects can be reduced based on the second probabilities determined by the first PMBM filter and the second detected objects can be output.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 2, 2022Publication date: September 7, 2023Applicant: Ford Global Technologies, LLCInventors: Su Pang, Marcos Paul Gerardo Castro, Jinhyoung Oh, Clifton K. Publication number: 20230248671Abstract: The present invention relates to the use of ?-1 adrenergic receptor antagonist to prepare compositions for reducing or preventing damage to normal epithelial cells induced by epidermal growth factor receptor inhibitor (EGFRI) and inhibiting cancer cells, by administering a composition containing a ?-1 adrenergic receptor antagonist to reduce damage to normal epithelial cells induced by the EGFRI. The composition comprising ?-1 adrenergic receptor antagonist is administered to reduce damage to normal epithelial cells induced by the EGFRI. The composition comprising ?-1 adrenergic receptor antagonist can be administered together with an epidermal growth factor receptor inhibitor to synergistically inhibit cancer cells.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 8, 2021Publication date: August 10, 2023Inventors: Chun-Wei LU, Jong-Hwei SU PANG, Yu-Shien KO, Wen-Hung CHUNG, Mei-Jun CHEN

Publication number: 20220406010Abstract: A method and system of operating a vehicle includes a first sensor generating first sensor data for an object comprising a first bounding box from a first sensor. The first sensor data comprising a first confidence score. A second sensor generates second sensor data for the object comprising a second bounding box from a second sensor different than the second sensor. The second sensor data comprises a second confidence score. A bounding box circuit is programmed to generate a third confidence score for the object based on the first sensor data and the second sensor data and utilize the first sensor data, the second sensor data and the third confidence score to control operation of a vehicle system.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 17, 2021Publication date: December 22, 2022Applicant: Board of Trustees of Michigan State UniversityInventors: Hayder RADHA, Su PANG, Daniel MORRIS
