  • Patent number: 5871087
Abstract: A common conductor assembly is employed in a contact switch and includes a mounting plate, a pivotally movable member and a tension spring. The mounting plate has an elongated flat portion with first and second vertical edges, and first and second end plate portions extending integrally and transversely from a respective one of the first and second vertical edges in a same direction. The first end plate portion has an outward face formed with an engaging groove that is perpendicular to the vertical edges of the elongated flat portion. The second end plate portion has a spring mounting neck formed thereat. A conducting leg plate portion extends downwardly and integrally from the second vertical edge of the elongated flat portion.

  • Patent number: 5608603
Abstract: A computer keyboard includes a printed circuit board, a rubber plate which is located over the printed circuit board, and a positioning device that positions the printed circuit board and the rubber plate in the keyboard. The positioning device includes an electrically insulating upper positioning plate located over the rubber plate, and a lower positioning plate located under the printed circuit plate. The lower positioning plate includes a plurality of socket units which project upwardly therefrom, and through the holes of the printed circuit board and the holes of the rubber plate. The upper positioning plate includes a plurality of generally L-shaped plug units which project downwardly therefrom, and through the holes of the rubber plate and the holes of the printed circuit board. Each of the L-shaped plug units has a vertical section formed integrally with a plate body of the upper positioning plate, and a horizontal section formed integrally with a lower end of the vertical section.

  • Patent number: 5252795
Abstract: A tilt switch includes a switch casing which confines a chamber therein. First, second and third conductive terminals are provided on sides of the chamber. A movable conductor moves inside the chamber. The switch casing is turnable between a first switch position, wherein gravity acts on the movable conductor so as to place the movable conductor between the first and second conductive terminals to make electrical connection between the first and second conductive terminals, and to break electrical connection between the first and third terminals, and a second switch position, wherein gravity acts on the movable conductor so as to move the movable conductor between the first and third conductive terminals to make an electrical connection and to break electrical connection between the first and second conductive terminals. The movable conductor may include three contacting ball members movable in two communicating chambers.

  • Patent number: 5171945
Abstract: A contact switch includes a casing, and a first, a second, and a third conductor mounted to the casing. Each of the first, second and third conductors has a leg portion extending downward and out of the casing. A spring mounting plate member extends from the leg portion of the first conductor inside the casing and has an upward end flange extending from one end of the mounting plate member. The mounting plate member has an opening and a top end portion provided with a gap to access the opening. A spring engaging member projects upward from the mounting plate member and is spaced from the end flange. The spring engaging member is provided with a pair of oppositely disposed notches. A movable contact arm has one end abutting the end flange and is turnable about the point of contact between the movable contact arm and the end flange. A helical spring member has a curved end attached to the spring engaging member at the notches thereof.
