Patent number: 11814169Abstract: An aerial robot system may include an aerial robot having an airframe, a piezo actuator, a wing connected to the piezo actuator, and a photovoltaic cell. The system may further include a laser source configured to emit a laser beam oriented toward the photovoltaic cell for conversion by the photovoltaic cell into electrical energy. The aerial robot may further include a boost converter connected to the photovoltaic cell and configured to raise a voltage level of the electrical energy, and a signal generator connected to the boost converter and configured to generate an alternating signal. The piezo actuator is connected to the signal generator to move according to the alternating signal to cause the wing to move in a flapping motion to generate aerodynamic force that moves the robot. Methods for manufacturing aerial robots and corresponding electronics are also disclosed herein.Type: GrantFiled: May 10, 2019Date of Patent: November 14, 2023Assignee: UNIVERSITY OF WASHINGTONInventors: Sawyer Fuller, Shyamnath Gollakota, Johannes James, Vikram Subramaniam Iyer, Yogesh M. Publication number: 20230334467Abstract: This disclosure describes methods, non-transitory computer readable storage media, and systems that utilize one or more virtual cards to autofill payment information at a user client device for a payment transaction. For example, the disclosed system utilizes a reference identifier to determine a virtual card corresponding to the payment card account based on a virtual card account mapping. The disclosed system provides a stored virtual card identification number and virtual card verification data (e.g., an expiration date and a card verification value) to a user client device for autofilling the virtual card identification number and the virtual card verification data at the user client device in connection with a payment transaction. Additionally, the disclosed system processes the payment transaction in response to receiving a virtual card from a merchant system by swapping the virtual card with the payment card account when providing transaction details to a payment network.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 15, 2022Publication date: October 19, 2023Inventors: Mark Daniel Cline, Chandrasekaran Subramaniam Iyer Krishnan, Rohan Beresford Thompson

Patent number: 10185298Abstract: A method for operating a smart tool monitoring system is described. The method includes monitoring, by a controller within a smart tool monitoring system, a first parameter associated with a first component internal to the smart tool monitoring system. The method also includes determining, by the controller, whether the first parameter satisfies a first criterion. The method also includes performing a first action in response to a determination that the first parameter satisfies the first criterion. The method also includes receiving a measurement value from a sensor of an article of manufacturing equipment that includes a second component external to the smart tool monitoring system. The method also includes determining, by the controller, whether the measurement value satisfies a second criterion. The method also includes performing a second action in response to a determination that the measurement value satisfies the second criterion.Type: GrantFiled: March 29, 2016Date of Patent: January 22, 2019Assignee: Applied Materials, Inc.Inventors: Subramaniam Iyer, Devendrappa Holeyannavar
