  • Publication number: 20240018974
Abstract: One or more boost pumps for a liquid hydrogen fuel system are disposed within the fuel tank and fully flooded. An electrical connector of each boost pump is sealed from the fuel tank and accessible from an exterior of the fuel tank while the boost pump is installed. Each boost pump can be independently replaced using a toolbox. Each boost pump is purged of fuel before being replaced by introducing a gas at a center region of the boost pump. The toolbox and new boost pump are purged prior to removal of the old boost pump. Each boost pump can be formed from modular components.

  • Publication number: 20230339621
Abstract: A hydrogen fuel system for an aircraft is configured to provide hydrogen fuel to the engines for propulsion. The fuel system also may provide hydrogen fuel to a fuel cell arrangement to generate electricity for use on the aircraft. The fuel cell arrangement may be selectively coupled to the feed lines for the engines. A ventilation system regulates the pressure within the one or more fuel tanks and the feed lines. The ventilation system can vent hydrogen vapor to atmosphere or can transfer hydrogen vapor between the fuel tanks and the fuel cell arrangement. A jet pump and accumulator may pull vapor from the feed lines as needed.

  • Publication number: 20220340295
Abstract: The present disclosure relates generally to a system for removing fuel from a mixture of air and fuel vapor in an ullage space of an aircraft fuel tank. The system includes a compressor for drawing the mixture of air and fuel vapor from the ullage space and directing the mixture of air and fuel vapor through a heat exchanger where the mixture of air and fuel vapor is cooled. The system also includes a turbine configured to be driven by the mixture of air and fuel from the heat exchanger. Power from the turbine can be transferred back toward the compressor to assist in driving rotation of the compressor. The system further includes a separator for receiving the mixture of air and fuel vapor from the turbine and separating at least some liquid fuel from the mixture of air and fuel vapor. From the separator, a separated liquid fuel and a mixture of air and fuel vapor with reduced concentration of fuel vapor are returned to the aircraft fuel tank.

  • Patent number: 10042849
Abstract: An aspect of the present disclosure facilitates transferring data from multiple data sources to desired data targets. In one embodiment, meta-data specifying multiple use cases is maintained, with each use case indicating an import procedure and a corresponding condition to be satisfied by a set of import parameters such that the import procedure is executed for importing of data upon satisfaction of the corresponding condition. In response to receiving an import connector requesting transfer of data from data sources to data targets, a use case is selected having the condition which is satisfied by the respective values for the corresponding import parameters received in the import connector. The execution of the import procedure indicated by the selected use case is then initiated to import data from the data sources to the data targets.
