Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for implementing electronic business applications for managing and selling spare parts, wherein electronic catalogs of spare parts are used to present static and/or real-time spare parts data from disparate backend data sources in a uniform, integrated manner, and wherein business logic programs are provided to support transaction activities using the electronic catalogs of spare parts, such as navigating the catalog content, and retrieving static and/or real-time spare parts data and initiating spare parts sales with the backend business information systems and spare parts data source.

Abstract: A method of generating a searchable database system for storing and querying Extensible Markup Language (XML) documents is disclosed. A Document Type Description (DTD) associated with one or more XML documents is analyzed to determine a scope of XML documents defined by the DTD. A first set of elements associated with the DTD is identified. The first set of elements is mapped to a relational database. A second set of elements associated with the DTD to be stored in an XML database is identified. A collection of classes is created such that each class defines an object schema. The classes are mapped to a set of corresponding tables, and foreign and primary keys associated with the corresponding tables are identified.

Abstract: A physical data blending system updates presentation documents live, on-the fly, during browsing whenever there is up-to-date information available on a LiveDoc Document server. LiveDoc Architecture provides for a live presentation updating system based on physical data blending methods from generating Blending Script Descriptions (BSD). LiveDoc Architecture comprises environment settings and application components including a LiveDoc-aware Browser, a LiveDoc Engine, LiveDoc Document Servers and a LiveDoc Administrator.

Abstract: A document generator is provided, for generating structured documents on-the fly from product database. The method is based on high-level document generation specifications, which are SGML documents conformed to specification DTD. A document generator transforms document specifications and queries the product database to generate a structured SGML document. The document generator includes document generation specifications, a document structure template transformer, a document content filling operator, and a document maker.
