    Abstract: A resonator in the Swiss-roll structure, method of making the resonator structure and the system employing the resonator are disclosed. The resonator includes a plurality of layers, including a ceramic layer and a metallic layer. The ceramic and metallic layers are configured in a Swiss-roll form such that the neighboring ceramic layers are separated by the metallic layer. Further, the ceramic layer includes materials that have a dielectric constant of at least about 10 and dielectric loss tangent less than about 0.01 in the frequency range of about 1 KHz to about 100 MHz. The method of forming the resonator includes the steps of disposing a metallic layer, depositing a dielectric ceramic layer, and forming a Swiss-roll structure of the metallic and ceramic layers. Alternate method includes swaging the dielectric material filled metal tubes and forming into Swiss-rolls.

The electrical switch includes a graded resistance block comprising a first end having a first electrical resistivity and a second end having an electrical resistivity greater than the first electrical resistivity. The electrical switch further includes a fixed contact electrically coupled to the first end of the graded resistance block, and a sliding contact configured to slide over the graded resistance block. In addition to the components of the electrical switch, the circuit breaker also includes a forcing mechanism to slide the sliding contact over the graded resistance block from the first end to the second end.

The heat sink can be configured to receive thermal energy from a busbar and the thermal energy receiving portion can be configured to receive thermal energy from said heat sink.     Abstract: A regenerator having a thermal diffusivity matrix is presented. The thermal diffusivity matrix includes magneto-caloric material having multiple miniature protrusions intimately packed to form a gap between the protrusions. A fluid path is provided within the gap to facilitate flow of a heat exchange fluid and further provide efficient thermal exchange between the heat exchange fluid and magneto-caloric material. A first layer is disposed on each of the miniature protrusion to physically isolate the heat exchange fluid and magneto-caloric material, wherein the first layer further includes a soft magnetic material configured to simultaneously enhance a permeability and a thermal efficiency of the thermal diffusivity matrix.

The first layer is thermally coupled to the current carrying conductor and configured to exchange thermal energy. A micro-pump is configured to circulate a heat exchange fluid through the micro fluidic channels to exchange thermal energy with the first layer and remove heat from the current carrying conductor.
