  • Patent number: 10368219
Abstract: A method is provided for self-provisioning and personalization of a companion device. A primary user device receives input to initiate a cellular service activation process for a companion device, wherein the companion device includes a preloaded version of a service provider application for facilitating remote provisioning. The primary device provides, to the companion device, an updated version of the service provider application that replaces the preloaded version. The primary device receives, from the companion device, an embedded universal integrated circuit card (eUICC) identifier for the companion device and forwards the eUICC identifier to a network device and an identifier for the primary device.

  • Patent number: 10111063
Abstract: A method is provided for self-provisioning and personalization of a companion device. A primary user device receives, via an activation application for cellular service activation of a companion device, user input to initiate a cellular service activation process for the companion device. The primary user device establishes a local network connection with the companion device and receives from the companion device an embedded universal integrated circuit card (eUICC) identifier. The primary user device forwards, to a network device in a service provider network, the eUICC identifier along with an identifier for the primary user device. The primary user device receives, from the network device, an activation code for the eUICC and forwards to the companion device the activation code. The activation code automatically causes the companion device to initiate a profile download request for an eUICC to be included with a new line of service under a subscriber account associated with the primary user device.

  • Patent number: 9832314
Abstract: A middleware device opens, based on an assistance call from a mobile device, a first leg of a websocket with a system associated with a call center customer representative, and sends a SMS text message to the mobile device that includes a first authentication token. The middleware device receives, while attempting to establish a second leg of the websocket between the first middleware device and the mobile device, a second authentication token from the mobile device, authenticates the mobile device based on the second authentication token, and opens the second leg of the websocket between the middleware device and the mobile device based on whether the authentication is successful. The middleware device receives a captured display screen from the mobile device via the second leg of the websocket, and sends the captured display screen to the system associated with the customer representative via the first leg of the websocket.

  • Patent number: 9699649
Abstract: A mobile device, such as a smart phone, receives program instructions, such as program instructions to evaluate components and/or software in the mobile device. The mobile device detects a local network and determines whether an attribute of the local network matches a desired attribute, such as a service set identifier (SSID) identified in the program instructions. When the attribute of the local network matches the desired attribute, the mobile device executes the program instructions. If the attribute of the local network does not match the desired attribute, the mobile device continues to look for a matching local network before executing the program instructions.
