    Abstract: A valve actuator assembly includes a valve member movable between a first seat and a second seat. A spring member biases the valve member toward the first seat, and an actuator is positioned to move the valve member toward the second seat against the bias of the spring member when the actuator is energized. A controller is in control communication with the actuator and is configured to provide a first current to the actuator for an energizing period, identify a lack of return contact between the valve member and the first seat during a post-energizing period, and provide a second current to the actuator that is higher than the first current in response to the lack of return contact.
