    Abstract: The convention concerns methods for preparing a cross-linked polymer network comprising: forming a plurality of cross-links in a polymer network by (i) addition polymerization or (ii) ionic polymerization or (iii) partial radical polymerization of the polymer network to produce an intermediate polymer network, and forming further cross-links in the polymer network by radical polymerization of the intermediate polymer network to produce the cross-linked polymer network.
