  • Patent number: 11366275
Abstract: A hybrid electro-optic (EO) wireline cable includes optical fibers strategically placed within to allow acoustic sensing methods as well as provide power and electrical telemetry. The hybrid EO wireline cable contains optical fibers in the interstices among symmetrically arranged electrical wire bundles to allow a hybrid EO cable to be concurrently used for electrical telemetry and optical fiber sensing without interference in a wellbore environment. This hybrid EO cable maintains electric and magnetic field symmetry which allows an optimal electrical signaling rate through orthogonal propagation modes. By placing optical fibers symmetrically inside the interstitial spaces between electrical wire bundles, the cable maintains its optimal signaling rate and avoids the mechanical and electrical limitations that would be introduced when combining electrical wires and optical fibers in a wireline cable.

  • Publication number: 20220183111
Abstract: In one embodiment, a gateway to a Layer-3 network forms a first Layer-2 tunnel between the gateway and a first wireless access point (AP) that communicates wirelessly with a first mobile node of a mobile system (MS) via a first wireless connection. The gateway generates a mapping that associates an onboard device of the MS with the first AP and an identifier for the MS, based on traffic conveyed via the first Layer-2 tunnel and associated with the onboard device, the traffic comprising a header that indicates the identifier for the MS. The gateway receives, from a second AP, an indication that the MS is roaming from the first wireless connection to a second wireless connection, the indication including the identifier for the MS. The gateway updates the mapping to associate the onboard device of the MS with a second AP, based on the indication that the MS is roaming.

  • Publication number: 20220159428
Abstract: Techniques described herein provide for the efficient usage of an RF channel for PRS transmissions by performing LBT sensing for a group of one or more vehicles (e.g., V2X vehicles) in a predetermined area by using an RSU. The RSU can determine a sequence in which an order for each vehicle in the group to transmit a respective PRS is defined, and provide the sequence to the group. The RSU may further perform the LBT functionality by listening to availability on the RF channel and, when the channel becomes available, the RSU can initiate this sequence by sending an initial PRS. This LBT sensing for a group can provide far more efficient usage of the RF channel than if LBT functionality were performed by each divisional vehicle.

  • Patent number: 11329789
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A first device may identify that a first set of transmission resources in a transmission time interval (TTI) has a higher priority at a second device than a second set of transmission resources in the TTI. The first device may identify that a message is to be transmitted from the first device to the second device via the TTI and process the message into a bit sequence based on the identification of the second set of transmission resources in the TTI, where the processing increases a likelihood that systematic bits of the message are received at the second device despite presence of the second set of transmission resources in the TTI. The first device may transmit the bit sequence to the second device via the TTI.

  • Patent number: 11330565
Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure propose a mechanism whereby a nearby device may detect scenarios where one device is unable to receive communications from a transmitting device. For example, the nearby device may detect that concurrent transmissions of a transmitting device and intended recipient prevent reception by the intended recipient and provide feedback to the transmitting device. Rather than blindly retransmitting, the transmitting device may only retransmit when it receives feedback from the nearby device, saving power and avoiding unnecessary transmissions.
