  • Patent number: 12142147
Abstract: Various aspects of the disclosure relate to a request-response mechanism for sharing sensor information. For example, sensor devices (e.g., in vehicles, fixed structures, or a combination thereof) may selectively share information acquired by the sensor devices. The disclosure relates in some aspects to avoiding redundant transmissions of sensor information. For example, a sensor device of a set of sensor devices may determine which sensor device should transmit information and/or the time(s) at which that sensor device should transmit the information.

  • Patent number: 12137371
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some systems (e.g., vehicle-to-everything (V2X) systems), a source user equipment (UE) may multicast a data packet to surrounding UEs. In some cases, a receiving UE may fail to receive the transmission due to blocking, shadowing, or interference. The receiving UE may multicast a message requesting retransmission of the packet. Any surrounding UEs that successfully received the data packet from the source UE and the relay request message from the receiving UE may determine whether to relay the packet. Determining whether to relay the packet may be based on a reference signal received power (RSRP) threshold, available resources, a distance to the blocked UE, or some combination thereof. In some examples, the receiving UE may successfully receive the relayed packet from the relay UE even if a path between the receiving UE and the original source UE is blocked.

  • Patent number: 12127292
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may initiate a radio resource control (RRC) layer signaling procedure between the UE and a target UE, include an upper layer signaling message in an RRC message based in part on the RRC layer signaling procedure, and transmit the RRC message including the upper layer signaling message to the target UE. • Publication number: 20240324052
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for sidelink wireless communications are described in which a user equipment (UE) engaged in sidelink communications may provide for radio link maintenance of the sidelink connection by initiating a maintenance procedure, such as a measurement procedure, when one or more conditions are detected. The one or more conditions may include a threshold time being exceeded since a data transmission via the sidelink connection, or a threshold time being exceeded since a successful reception of a sidelink transmission from another UE. An access stratum layer at the initiating UE may format a data packet in the absence of higher layer data to be transmitted via the sidelink connection to initiate the maintenance procedure.

  • Patent number: 12089183
Abstract: Aspects directed towards initializing sequence generators to facilitate sidelink communications are disclosed. In one example, a type associated with a sidelink communication is determined. A sequence generator is then initialized with a seed in which the seed is based on the type associated with the sidelink communication. The sequence generator is then utilized to facilitate transmitting at least a portion of the sidelink communication.

  • Publication number: 20240292403
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described in which a transmitting user equipment (UE) may determine a data packet to transmit to another UE and determine a set of candidate resources for transmission of the data packet based on a set of time-frequency resources that are allocated for UE-to-UE communications. A resource reservation signal (RRS) may be transmitted to indicate to other UEs that the set of candidate resources have been reserved by a UE. The RRS may be transmitted such that the RRS may be differentiated from other regular transmissions based at least in part on information provided by a control channel associated with the RRS or a payload of a transmission that includes the RRS. The RRS may indicate one or more of a size of an allocation of the resources and multiple locations of the resources within a time-frequency resource pool.

  • Patent number: 12068857
Abstract: Disclosed are techniques related to performing wireless sidelink communication. Originating (e.g., transmitting) and target (e.g., receiving) apparatuses may operate in a NACK-only mode. In this mode, the target apparatus only provides NACK feedbacks to transmissions that it did not receive. Lack of NACK feedback is interpreted by the originating apparatus that the transmissions were successfully received. However, the target apparatus maybe incapable of transmitting NACK for each of missed transmission. In NACK-only mode, the originating would not retransmit these missed transmissions. To address this issue, the target apparatus can transmit a multi-transmission NACK feedback to indicate that multiple transmissions were not successfully received. The multi-transmission NACK is a single feedback, and thus can enable a target apparatus with limited feedback capacity to indicate NACK for multiple transmissions.

  • Patent number: 12041673
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A receiver user equipment (UE) may communicate with a transmitter UE in a sidelink channel to report a congestion index to the transmitter UE and/or additional transmitter UEs, where the transmitter UE(s) may then adjust one or more sidelink operation parameters based on the reported congestion index. In some cases, the transmitter UE may report the congestion index to an upper layer, to other transmitter UEs, to application layers, or a combination thereof. The transmitter UEs 115 and/or application layer may then adjust one or more sidelink transmission operation parameters based on the reported congestion index. For example, the transmitter UEs and/or application layer may adjust threshold values to lessen a number of retransmissions and lessen congestion.
