  • Publication number: 20160040660
Abstract: A water pumping system that is operable to use air from an air pump to provide positive pressure to a submersible pump submersed in a body of water so as to provide extraction of water for use. The water pumping system includes a surface mounted air pump located proximate a body of water that is operable to produce an airflow exiting therefrom and is directed to the submersible pump. The submersible pump includes a first chamber and a second chamber that are parallel in manner and substantially hollow. The first chamber and second chamber are operably coupled with a union and have an opening opposite thereto. An air nozzle receives air from the air pump and forces air into openings of the first chamber and second chamber so as to move a piston therein to evacuate water from the first chamber and second chamber during downward movement of the piston.

  • Publication number: 20160037729
Abstract: A floral preservation apparatus operable to prolong the freshness of cut flowers utilizing a pressurized container to facilitate the introduction of fluid into cut flower stalks. The floral preservation apparatus includes a container having an interior volume with an opening providing access thereto. An insert is releasably secured into the container through the opening. Disposed across the insert is a sealing membrane having a plurality of downwardly extending nipples. The sealing membrane and insert provide a hermetic seal of the interior volume. Cut flower stalks are journaled through the nipples and collapsible walls of the nipples bias against the cut flower stalks providing a hermetic seal therearound. A pressure bulb is operably attached to the container so as to provide pressurization to the interior volume of the container.

  • Patent number: 8821120
Abstract: A wind energy conversion system operable to convert wind energy into either mechanical or electrical energy. The wind energy conversion system further includes a first wind panel and a second wind panel having a plurality of pivotally mounted shutters. The first wind panel and second wind panel are operably coupled to a pivot bar and traverse in a reciprocating manner being driven by the altering of position of the plurality of shutters. A support platform is further included that has support rods laterally extending therefrom operable to provide support for the first wind panel and second wind panel. A power rod is included that is operably coupled to the pivot bar and transfers the reciprocal movement of the pivot bar into rotational movement to drive a gear mounted thereon. A directional vane orients the wind energy conversion system.

  • Patent number: 8807963
Abstract: A wave powered energy conversion system operable to convert the motion of ocean waves into a usable form of energy such as electricity. The wave powered energy conversion system includes a storage tank operable to store air pressurized to a pressure greater than that of atmospheric air. A frame assembly circumferentially surrounds the storage tank and consists of sub-frame assemblies organized into quadrants. The frame assembly is movable and has operably coupled thereto a plurality of buoyant objects. A plurality of air pumps are present that are connected to the frame assembly and further connected to an air delivery pipe network. The buoyant objects are operable to move at least a portion of the frame assembly so as to operate at least a portion of the plurality of air pumps so as to produce pressurized air to be distributed to the storage tank.

  • Patent number: 8651903
Abstract: A hydro-propulsion system operably coupled to a watercraft wherein the hydro-propulsion system functions to propel the watercraft. The hydro-propulsion system further includes a fluid chamber being modified-triangular in shape having walls, a bottom and a top forming an interior volume. A plurality of inlets are formed within the walls of the fluid chamber and function to allow water to flow into the interior volume thereof. An aft opening is present and is configured to allow water to flow outward from the interior volume of the fluid chamber. Disposed within the interior volume is a propulsion member that is generally rectangular in shape having a first end and a second end. The propulsion member is movably mounted within the interior volume so as to laterally oscillate proximate the second end. The hydro-propulsion system includes a leverage apparatus operably coupled to the propulsion member so as to control the movement thereof.

  • Patent number: 8328830
Abstract: An ear cleaning device that creates a negative pressure within the patient's ear to draw fluid thereinto and provide cleansing thereof so as to substantially reduce the risk of damage to the tympanic membrane. The ear cleaning device includes a first container and a second container mechanically operably coupled together and in general axial alignment. Additionally, an ear chamber is included that is operably intermediate the first container and the second container. The ear chamber further includes a membrane to create a hermetic seal around a patient's ear. The first container is configured to receive a store a desired cleaning fluid. Operably coupled to the second container is a pressure reducing device. The ear cleaning device utilizes a hermetic seal between the second container, ear chamber and first container to transport the fluid from the first container into the ear chamber wherein the fluid is introduced in the ear canal of the patient and is subsequently collected within the second container.

  • Patent number: 8074435
Abstract: A grass cutting device operable to sever at least a portion of a blade of grass wherein the grass cutting device utilizes stationary blades and is slidably traversed across a lawn. The grass cutting device further includes a bin having a plurality of walls configured to receive and store grass clippings therein. Operably coupled to the bin proximate the front wall is a clipping guide member. The clipping guide member functions to transfer grass clippings from the blade assembly into the bin. The blade assembly is mounted to the clipping guide member distal to the bin. The blade assembly further includes a plurality of triangular shaped blades with alternately intermediate dividers. The dividers function to partition a section of grass of a lawn into a smaller portion as the section of grass enters the blade assembly in order to facilitate severing of at least a portion of the blades of grass when contacted by the plurality of blades.
